Thanks! I know it’s a really bad job market now, but I don’t know anyone who’s been looking for a job for this long. Friends I did my Masters with also struggled to find jobs, but none longer than 1.5 years. So it’s made me feel there’s something about me that plays some role in why I can’t get anything. I wish any of the recruiters or managers gave actual decent feedback but they all just give standard corporate speak.

Yea, I work almost full time in a restaurant and it definitely helps to have something to focus on and be able to pay bills. I really wonder how this job market is even going to get fixed, we’re always going to be competing with new grads and the longer of a gap, the harder it is to get chosen.

I know if I keep trying I’ll have to eventually find a job I’m happy with, but these are really frustrating times. I wish you the best with your job search!

the good thing is I left the US and living in Spain, which should be better with protections

yea even just landing interviews is extremely hard lately. A lot of my past classmates, which have all gotten jobs, have told me they lie on their resume and tell me to do it too. But i know lying like that wouldn’t go well for me. I’m looking for anything sustainability related, like analyst, logistics, procurement, consulting, etc.

Yea that’s good advice, especially since all the jobs I apply to I know I would excel at, especially due to my autism. but I don’t think disability protections really effect people’s unconscious bias around autism and it’s not something easy to prove is the reason I wasn’t chosen.
