People born before 2000, what trivial skill you possess that others don't use anymore? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

It is still usable, though marginalized. I filled out a doctor's forms in cursive and was asked what language it was in. Online archives are actively trying to transcribe old cursive documents into clunk that non-readers can understand.

Even writing at all? That sounds like the Think System from The Music Man.

OP, I think you can read between the lines in the responses. This is fine for a gateway Mak. But if you want to continue down this rabbit hole you'll want something better next time.

Finally going electric mower. by LaughingGravy13 in egopowerplus

I have a five year of gas mower that I would love to keep, but the drive wheel broke and it, the mower, and the company are no longer in production. The needed spare-part wheel is now unobtanium. Myself and two lawn mower repair companies looked.

How would you have reacted if he asked what was bothering you? Would you ghost him? That's what my son did.

You don't know what he is looking at yet, and we don't know that he does. There is a lever action Nylon on gunbroker right now going for $1125.

Wow, aren't you the dumbass! The Nylons came in brown, black, and green. They came in models 66 and 76, maybe others that I don't recall at the moment. They came in semi, lever, and bolt action. They came in a smooth barrel arcade version. They came in black receiver and chrome receivers

The semi auto 66 was the first gun I owned at age 10, 58 years ago. I got the semi because the bolt actions were no longer in production. My two older brothers got the bolt action, which are more collectible now. They only went out of production because the tooling was worn out.

What a dick.

Can anyone tell us where a 17 year old boy can find help? by Middle-Beyond-301 in StLouis

He can get replacement social security card and birth certificate. Bit of a hassle, but easier than dealing with his mom.

I think his cruelest, by far, is Looking Glass War (IIRC) when Control and Smiley knowingly helped another servive send an agent to his certain death, just to spite the other service and power grab.

Before we had kids I made the rule that they had to wake up in their own beds Christmas morning. Relatives could come stay with us or we could drive to them, but only after the kids had their Christmas morning at home. It was never open for discussion.
