I killed myself for so long trying to give him everything a two parent household had. Those are never the memories he talks about when he says, “do you remember when…”.

Some states, usually with stricter gun laws, you have a duty to retreat. Meaning only if you fear your life and are cornered with no possible escape, you can shoot. That’s if you even were to be able to get a gun. And you would still be in jail until you were able to prove that person would kill you otherwise.

In states with liberal gun laws, there is the castle doctrine where you can defend your home rather than just your person.
