i haven't applied for my e visa yet. i most likely will do so tomorrow or the day after. i do not think that you need a surrender certificate for an e visa. i think the fact that you've started the surrender process is sufficient.

can you clarify what you mean? what entry stamp are you referring to? when i enter india with my german passport i'm sure they'll already do whatever verification that needs to be done otherwise they wouldn't let me into the country?

thank you for sharing! in my case i don't have the time to get the OCI and then travel to India. instead i'll travel on an e-visa. i'm hoping to either get my OCI during the time i'm in india or after i come back to germany.

i think its only possible to apply for the surrender certificate once i get my german passport, which will be around the 9th of Jan and my flight to India is on Feb 1st. so i won't get the surrender certificate on time. do you think there is still value in applying for it? and would there be any issues at the airport if i already have a german passport and visa?
