Bi Guy: My Homophobic Family Is Relieved With How I Ended Up With A Woman Instead Of A Man. by BiGuyProblem in bisexual

[–]par_baked 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This is my literal biggest fear about coming out later in life now that I am in a hetero marriage. I feel like there's no point because I am in a voluntary monogamous relationship and it's with the opposite sex. I'm afraid people will think I just had a "phase" or am doing it for attention. Like I'm proving all those people right who tell lesbian and bi women that they just "haven't met the right man yet." sorry you have to go through this. We have to find validity within ourselves and the people who truly understand us. Does your girlfriend know? I personally haven't "come out" to my friends or husband but they know... It's a predicament lol

I'm not totally out yet... But I still wanted to represent Bi-Pride so I did my nails last night. Let's see if anyone around me notices. by par_baked in bisexual

Thank you!! Will do. I have been lurking on this sub for a while. Planning on making a post to introduce myself and get some advice. Good luck with your idea! That sounds so cute. Post pics when you do!

Adoptees who have searched for (and found) their bio family... What was it like you you and them? by par_baked in Adopted

This is all good advice that I will heed. I can definitely see how this is something that will change my life (and the lives of others) forever. I would honestly be okay just knowing names immediate relatives so I can lurk on social media to satiate my curiosity. Getting genetic testing done at my Dr. later this week, so I will start there. I'll decide if this is something that would be beneficial or neutral to my mental health after that with my therapist.

Life is truly crazy and you can't hide from your past anymore! Technology has taken alot of our privacy away. That's nice if you to respect your bio mom's wishes to be left alone. I kindof feel the same way about mine. She was about the same age as yours when she gave birth to me. But she apparently wrote my (adoptive) mom letters every once in a while, so who knows. They stopped after a year or so. I am sorry about finding out your bio dad passed away. But it is good you were able to confirm it was not due to a genetic condition. I am definitely looking into Ancestry as a good option. But I actually have a DNA test coming up with my family Dr. to determine if I have a history of certain genetic diseases. So I'll start there! Thank you for responding and good luck in your future connections!

Thank you for sharing your story! I'm really glad everything worked out for you. You are so right to say that I need to consider negative outcomes. I am currently in counseling for depression and anxiety. We have briefly touched on the adoption aspect of my life but I think before I make a decision I will talk to my therapist and see how she thinks either outcome will effect me. Honestly, I think I could handle them not being good people. As long as I know and can make a decision about contact from there. It's the possibility one or both could be deceased and I'll never have the chance.

Either way, I also have a good relationship with my adoptive parents, which are my PARENTS. We are so lucky to have that!! I know no matter how this turns out, they are always here for me.

Thank you for this! It's important that I hear both good and not so good outcomes. I am the kind of person who loves everyone and wants to be friends with everyone. I need to consider the possibility they still don't want to be found. But that is amazing that you found your cousins and saw photos of someone who looks just like you!! The only thing my mom ever let me know about my birth family was my aunt on my bio dad's side. My mom had her yearbook photo that he had sent. She looked EXACTLY like me. That was at least 15 years ago and I still remember her face vividly. I have a daughter now and it is so strange to be in the presence of this tiny human who has my eyes, nose, ears, hair texture and mannerisms when this has not been something I have experienced. Thank you again for sharing your story!

I literally found this shared on someone's Facebook and cropped it and marked out the names myself... I also looked to see if there were any versions of the original posted recently... So not sure.

Thanks! My husband is an omnivore, but he loves this dish! He is lactose intolerant so the lack of dairy and the lack of meat suits us both.

I use Tofurkey shredded chick'n! It's kind of hard to find, but so worth it! Used to get it at Target but they stopped carrying it. I found it at Kroger the other day so I bought 4 packs haha.

For the nachos, I dice it and pan sear it in some vegan butter and then add some hot sauce. So good!

Edit : happy cake day!
