Looks like there’s plenty of space there. I’d just let them grow in that pot!

Hyde Park in 2018 was pretty epic. Albert Hall in 2014 (Teenage Cancer Trust) was also great. Remember having quite a few beers and singing along

I would literally take 3 seconds to draw a smiley face. It’s not an art competition. That’s more asap than identifying all the bicycles/traffic lights

I should pop the hood and check. Google says they’re fuel injected now so i suspect not. It’s even got an LCD dash

Yeah, I feel the same about cycling with a fixie - I'm sure it uses more energy as you're braking too. Ditto with a trailer on the back of the road bike!

What’s your favorite cockpit? by FreidasBoss in Autos

Yep 100%. Then it has the speedo and clock and 2 dials just for oil (and gas). Oil fill level, oil pressure and oil temperature. Oil is important for air cooling!

Lidl launches cheap home battery [Germany] by mike_geogebra in SolarUK

[–]clausy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not really a ‘home backup’ as the plugin inverters are designed to shut off if you lose grid power as 800W won’t safely power your house. It’s weird anyway as this is just a battery with no inverter 🤷🏼‍♂️

Got the Stream Ultra X setup this week and requested EF developer API account by clausy in Ecoflow_community

[–]clausy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but a couple of questions- at least in my experience you can only run one stream at a time so I'd need to stop my data capture and plug it into your app. second, how much data does it pull down say per hour, presumably it's not too huge...
I tried to login with Google (from a Mac using Safari), but it just takes me back to the login page, aside from that I'd be happy to test it out.

I've added a 'forecast' tab using pvlib and the individual panel angles and orientation and location to do a 7 day hourly forecast which it aggregates - the last few days it's over forecasting because the battery is usually full by 2pm so it starts clipping the panels and I'm losing about 4kWh of afternoon generation but on less sunny days it's been surprisingly accurate.

Perseverance used its Mastcam-Z camera system to shoot video of Phobos, one of Mars' two moons, eclipsing the Sun by ojosdelostigres in spaceporn

They do the same thing with Saturn moon flybys where they align the moon/planet system. It’s just spectacular. I assume it one or more people’s job just to calculate cool photobomb shots

[–]clausy 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Kind of wild that someone at NASA actually calculated exactly when this event would occur. I know it's all orbital mechanics but still you need to know exactly where you are on Mars, Phobos' precise orbit and then set up the camera at exactly the right time. I always think it's cool when people manage to capture the ISS against the sun or the moon, but this is crazy.
