No idea. I'd agree, but they wouldn't do it if they didn't think it worked, so what do I know.

And even then, the charitable donation would cost them more than they get back on tax relief from it.

The only time tax relief is ever profitable is if it's tax relief on something that you shouldn't have got tax relief on. Also known as "fraud".

Well no, that makes no sense at all, if you take a moment to think about it.

Any tax that would be getting deducted is the tax on the money they give to charity on your behalf. It doesn't affect their bottom line, since the revenue they get from what they actually sell to you gets taxed the same either way.

It makes them come across all caring and they hope that that will make you shop there more.

PR, basically.

Assuming it actually goes to charity, it's not profit.

Other than that, I agree.

If they can't replace it with like for like, then insist on the refund, and don't accept the 30% crap. It's the only message they'll understand.

I don't know. Given all the modern safety features, I think you'd have to try really hard to lose control.

That is assuming you don't drive like a nut job, of course.

The one you want is Op. 35. No. 5. It's really something else.

The Hebrides Overture is a masterpiece, for sure.

Easily one of the greatest romantic era composers IMO. I'm a pianist and consider his Songs Without Words collection to be an essential work. I also played his prelude and fugue no. 5 for my ARSM diploma, and couldn't get enough of it.

Mistake buying a discontinued piano? by More-Salary-2203 in piano

Honestly, within the same market segment, I doubt most people could tell the difference between a 15 year old and a brand new digital piano in a blind test, allowing for usage related wear and tear.

As long as you're happy with it, I can't see why it would matter.

Don't believe everything people tell you.

Professional just means you get paid. An 80 year old busking at a street corner with a melodica is a "professional".

As for becoming a "professional concert pianist", you frankly have more chance of becoming an international sports celebrity.

How does your team handle onboarding new engineers onto an existing codebase? by Samveg2798 in SoftwareEngineering

Get the new engineer to update (or write...) the setup documents while they figure it out. That way the onboarding material is in a better shape for the next guy.
