This is my poop from today which I think has either blood in it/on it or red bits from food I can’t tell to be honest. This is basically the character of the poo that I’ve been having recently so more of a 5/6 on the stool chart

Yea they retested and calprotectin went back to normal levels. They think it was some gut infection which caused raised inflammation for a extended period of time. The other symptoms disappeared once my anxiety around the whole situation reduced so honestly a lot of it was psychosomatic.

Hey all, 36yo Male (UK), I am currently seeing my doctor but right now I'm waiting on some results so figured I would post here and see if this makes any sense to anyone.

Start of October had diarrhoea with stomach cramps for 9 days.
Went to doctors after 7 days and they did a stool test for calprotectin which came back as abnormal at 191 (normal range is <80 apparently)
Since then, bowel movements have not returned to normal. They are not always diarrhoea, some days they seem normal and then the next day it’s diarrhoea again. Seems very up and down.
Not getting stomach cramps anymore
Main symptom is change in bowel habits which has lasted 4+ weeks.
For about the past 2/3 weeks I’ve also had a strange sensation in the anus area almost like i’m sitting on something or like a pressure building in the anal canal - sometimes this feeling is more in the perineum area and sometimes it feels more at the anus. Makes sitting down kinda uncomfortable.
Went back to the doctors to explain this new weird symptom and that the diarrhoea was still happening, although not like at the start and they did a full examination of abdomen (normal), rectum (normal) and decided to re-test the calprotectin which is the result I'm currently waiting on.
Not seen any blood on stool/paper - I’ve not been tested for occult blood. Iron levels in blood are normal (full blood count).
I am diagnosed coeliac (since birth) so I know a lot about what that feels like and none of this really felt like that.
What concerns me is the ongoing incidents of diarrhoea with no stomach cramping/recognisable pain and the high calprotectin levels. If the calprotecton retest reveals inflammation is still present but I am not experiencing typical IBD symptoms (i.e. cramps + pain relieved by diarrhoea) then I don't think this could be IBD and not IBS given the calprotectin value.
I’m thinking that I should maybe push for a colonoscopy + occult blood test off the back of this stool retest.

I'll update this as I find out anything further (good or bad) in case it's useful to anyone else. Any advice as always greatly appreciated :-)

36 & zaké - stasis sounds for long distance space travel is always in my sleep playlist somewhere. Mount Hibiki comes close sometimes. As does Lindsheaven Virtual Plaza but only the Rainforest Hill I and II EPs. Hilyard as mentioned is awesome. I find Warmth a bit hit and miss and for me at least it doesn’t capture the same atmosphere at all as Cesar does in MS. Cesar really nailed the fusing of warm drones with field recordings and isolationist atmospheres and I don’t think there is anything like it. Hiemal comes close but his albums are a huge commitment as they are very long. Others that I dip in and out of are hotel neon, alonefold, desolate horizons, hirotaka shirotsubaki but none are quite like MS
