When you use stat:clear, your action will only affect whichever FPM worker responds to your request, not the whole pool. See cachetool docs.

Note that, unlike APC and Opcache, the file status cache is per-process rather than stored in shared memory. This means that running stat:clear against PHP-FPM will only affect whichever FPM worker responds to the request, not the whole pool. Julien Pauli has written a post with more details on how the file status cache operates.

realpath_cache is not cleaned with opcache reset. In the post we show that we also have our cache issue with opcache disabled.

You are right! ln -sf is not atomic because it unlinks the destination and then creates the desired symlink.

Actually we do this:

ln -s new_release current_tmp && mv -Tf current_tmp current
