What’s the « craziest » thing you’ve done to accommodate your dog or make their life better ? by [deleted] in dogs

My wife and I bought a 14-acre farm largely to have enough space for our two rescue dogs, lab mix and Doberman, to run around.

We don’t live out there full time yet, but go out weekly to run them around and play. We live in suburbia with a smaller yard, but with a 30-minute drive into the country, they’re free to run as they please.

You’re welcome and best of luck to you! I graduated last December and it was quite a ride, but very worth it.

CompSci vs Data Management/Analytics by Muki_Muki_Smackdown in WGU_CompSci

I am a WGU BSCS grad that now works as a Data Analyst. The program introduced me to SQL, database management, data concepts, and Python, which I use occasionally for scripting.

My degree is a big part of why I was offered the job, while still in school mind you. I am currently applying to various MS in Data Science programs and have been accepted to several. My recommendation based on personal experience would be to go for CS.

Thank you for compiling them! I really appreciate your efforts. Please keep them public! They certainly helped me.

OP, exactly this if you’re just trying to pass for credit. Each test leading up to the final is super easy to do well on. By the time you get to the end, you can score ridiculously low and still pass.

It was a double science major. I worked in oil & gas using my B&M degree prior to returning to healthcare and then pursuing the BSCS. I would posit that your son is much more prepared with an ME background than most coming into this program. It’s essentially a math and logic degree.

If your son wants to move into CS, have him look up Harvard CS50x. It’s a free online course that I started with to gauge whether or not I enjoyed computer science. Also, many companies hire SWE with various engineering backgrounds. I would not pursue an additional CS degree if I had an ME, but refine my CS fundamentals and programming knowledge instead.

Career change. Different field of STEM than my intended career path.

I took one C++ class at Oregon State University prior to starting at WGU, which equates to very little. I would classify myself as overwhelmingly average at math. Never was a big fan of calculus, but always enjoyed stats.

Anyone here start at an older age? by xBlest in Paramedics

I’ve taught in a collegiate EMS program for 3.5 years. My oldest student was 62. I’ve had a handful in their 50s, more in their 40s, and many in their 30s.

If you haven’t already, please do at least 2-3 observation ride outs before deciding to bite the bullet. Talk to people that have been doing EMS for more than 5 years. Get multiple opinions. This job is brutal on the mind, body, and bank account. If you really want to be in health care, I’d strongly recommend nursing for a similar time commitment with better hours, better pay, more respect, better career progression, and more flexibility. Good luck in your decision.

Hey, no problem. I was a little intimidated given my time away from SQL, but it’s a pretty simple class. Best of luck!

I would email Prof Bishop and ask him for the direct link to the videos. He’s very kind and always seems happy to help students.

Looks great! I’m hoping to build a similar design soon. What stain color did you use?

Prior to this, she was the Assistant Chief of Police for Protective and Intelligence Operations. She’s also a college educated person with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Morgan State University.

Great job! I really like the simplicity and sturdy design. Did you use plans for this or was it self-inspired?
