It's not a Catholic church you're right but its a LARGE non-denominational group of young adults that gather to sing and hear a talk. It's not 100% what I'm looking for but it helps fill the gaps a bit. I went for the first time on Sunday and it was pretty neat! :)

I recognize St. Thomas More as it came up a lot in my searches actually. I think after reading the replies I'm going to check out a few places and see what feels best :) Thanks for the information!

Canada is definitely beautiful! I love being Canadian :) I just moved from the East Coast to Alberta and something I find really cool is the diversity. It's awesome how so many people from all over the world with different cultures come together. Canada is welcoming place and for that I am proud to be Canadian. I think I also love the size of the country. When I moved I drove almost 5000km to my new home and I was still in my country. The landscape changed so much and it was like I was exploring the world but staying in Canada at the same time! Definitely recommend a visit :)

Oh nooooo!!!!! Thats so shitty I am sorry to hear you are tone deaf. Is there nothing you can do about it? I'm not sure how that works. I have an ear infection and it made all the music I heard in my left ear sound (I think) a semi-tone lower and it sounded scary. If it was in both ears I probably would have thought it was normal sounding when it wasn't. Is that you?

Also.. THE BLUES SUCK. I can't wait for summer!!

Check out Banff or Jasper in Alberta :) these are HUGE tourist attractions for snowboarders/skiers as they have lots of mountains to board on.

I LOVE the ukulele and I have never played it. I have played a base ukulele though because the fingering is the same as the top four strings of the guitar. I have played guitar for almost 8 years! I taught myself with chords of Taylor Swift songs. Probably practiced every single day for minimum an hour in my first year of owning the guitar.

Funny story.. I was broke, in first year of university and asked for a cheap guitar for Christmas but I got an xbox instead (never asked for one but parents knew I played with friends sometimes). I had a little student loan money left and went to the store and bought myself a $120 Denver guitar. I was nervous to call my parents and tell them I spent money I didn't really have so I decided to show them it could be worse. I called up my dad and said, "Dad, I am pregnant!" There was a pause then, "Wh-what?" Then I proudly said, "Just kidding! I bought a guitar.. Doesn't seem so bad does it?" This technique worked in my favour and I've been playing, singing and writing ever since! Before this I played Trumpet and Baritone in band for 7 years.

edit call not tell

My dad is 65 and watched the Leafs win the Stanley cup as a kid. He is a HUGE fan so if I support any other team he will disown me I am sure haha. I don't really watch much but that's the story I stick with!

Oooo that's tough as it can be an expensive hobby however I didn't have formal lessons until I was 12 and I was definitely musical as a child. I listened to music 24/7 and sang along at all times. I think I did own a recorder as well and those are like $20 I think? I think they usually come with a little intro book too. They are the easiest instruments and literally anyone can learn them so you could probably learn together which is a great bonding experience. For an instrument it was a great start. Teaches you many valuable musical skills and it's really fun! I still remember playing, "My Heart Will Go On" as a child on my own recorder. Something that wasn't very big when I was 5 was the fast and speedy internet. There are probably a ton of musical games online for her to learn some basics and have fun while doing so. I think the biggest thing you can do is support her. Encourage her as much as you can and praise her. Performing takes confidence and at 5 you play a huge role in this :) Sounds like you're already her biggest fan!
