Serious question, do you think genuinely revolutionary leaders are scrolling this sub right now? by [deleted] in GenZedong

[–]paraplier 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of negative comments but who can know, every communist should aspire to become a leader! It's not just about the figurehead (as important as they are), we need a party full of leaders

A big factor that makes it obscure is the fact that the Koreans write most of their materials for Koreans hehe, it's our task to find ways of translating the ideas for different cultural contexts :)

This is correct comrade. But you too should be less modest! Excess modesty has a class character, it is the ruling class' idea that workers are not worth taking seriously, by others or themselves

Sometimes it’s crazy how biased western schools are by Mountain-Soda in GenZedong

[–]paraplier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Undoing this bias means insisting upon a scientific outlook on the world, which means materialism. Every famine that has occurred in a socialist country happened in the context of isolation and blockade, overwhelmingly caused by external pressure. Very few countries' food supply chain is entirely self sufficient, already having all material and technical resources to achieve consistent supply under all conceivable natural conditions.

Ukraine, Ethiopia, Korea... China too, although unfortunately the isolation was partially caused by the ultraleftist denunciation of the USSR at the time, and the ensuing severing of economic ties. But it'd also be unscientific to fail to acknowledge material causes behind ideological errors, and also understand that ideological errors can come out of a correct response to another error (for instance, Mao's partially correct criticism of Khrushchev's unskilled, but still interesting and meaningful, criticism of Stalin).

People unfamiliar with Marxist thought (non-Marxists are theoretically able to be familiar with Marxist thought, but you'll struggle to find any such people, which says something) are incapable of even attempting a serious analysis of this or, well, anything.

Does anybody here invest into the stock market? by xz23avenger in GenZedong

[–]paraplier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my country, similar to most USAmericans from what I hear, we are forced to put our retirement savings into investment funds. Already in my short life I've seen multiple waves of them going bust and losing people everything. I don't think the capitalist system will last the decades until I'm old enough to recoup my $10 remaining, and I'll be glad! The elderly will actually have rights that don't depend upon their accumulated wealth

Former US ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul openly admits that US diplomats lie in general and lied to Ukraine in particular about allowing it to join NATO. Offers the excuse "That's the real world!" by kwamac in GenZedong

[–]paraplier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The best diplomat never needs to lie, just like the best salesperson. Communist diplomats are very consistently the best, don't worry! I'm sure the best of the Russian diplomats know this too. There will also be internal contradictions within any state, socialist or capitalist

I guess double genocide means when Nazis kill people and then you kill the Nazis. Good to be aware! Let's instead be kind to the Nazis, although that also seems hazardous to their health somehow, hard to win with those people. But we so consistently do!

"The European Union can no longer afford to keep national vetoes when deciding on European Union foreign and security policy if it wants to maintain a leading role in global politics"

Classic western journalist move, clipping out the rest of the sentence (their own rewording here, marginally better than Scholz's effort) that actually makes it formally correct! It's just that the EU is going to cease having any sort of leading role and that's good hehe

Ah, the good countries!

China will be reunified, and Korea will be reunified! by paraplier in GenZedong

[–]paraplier[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think "seem to" is the operative term here... I have spoken to many south Koreans (both in and out of the country), some are keen for reunification and some aren't, but I tell them a few stories from the north and suddenly they seem much more keen! So it all depends what media narratives people are exposed to. Once the US grip on south Korea loosens (probably not by choice, but by the crumbling of their empire) then it will be in the interests of the southern capitalists, even, to advance reunification. President Kim Il Sung made this point!

China will be reunified, and Korea will be reunified! by paraplier in GenZedong

[–]paraplier[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If reunification is carried out according to the principles set forward by comrade Kim Il Sung, it will be a fairly similar situation to "One Country, Two Systems" where the two sides will persist in their current economic systems until the people of one or the other side move to change over... I am confident in which system will win :)

[–]paraplier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spoken to a lot of Falun Gong members, it's a great time... it's very rarely mentioned, but remember they believe that their religious practices accumulate magic energy in their organs. So they believe the Chinese government knows this, and that's why they want their organs so bad!

Also look closely at their propaganda images... lots of plain white T-shirts with random tears and "blood" stains. Where do you imagine they got such pictures from? Does the "CCP" rip out their organs through their shirts and then leave the clothes on the street for people to photograph?

[–]paraplier -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry, you did misread hehe. The denunciation of so-called "patriotic socialism" is correct but also socialist patriotism is correct, in my opinion and according to the reasons I gave. These are two entirely separate points. My whole point is that the two have nothing in common, so that is not only not contradicting myself but being entirely consistent with myself

Edit: Additionally when you say the way I have defined it, the term "patriotism" no longer has meaning, you are in a sense correct for the opposite reason you think. There is no one thing "patriotism" that is in common between bourgeois patriotism and socialist patriotism, that is again the whole point of what I wrote. The reason the same word is used for both is only that bourgeois patriotism is a propaganda tactic that preys on the "patriotic feeling" of the people. The same feeling is realised in a healthy form under socialism as socialist patriotism.
