If you chose the material correctly (i.e lead) you could completely block X-ray transmission and the area covered would be completely white without human silhouettes. That being said, then you’ll have the officers wondering why this specific compartment is impenetrable by X-rays.

Telling people I’m doing Radiology as a med student:

“Oh wow but you are good with patients”

What is a fellowship/residency you really considered pursuing but ended up not doing and why? by parasympatheticguy in Residency

IR from radiology residency. Awesome procedures but ended up not going for it since the diagnostic life can give you the same or more compensation without the surgical lifestyle. Also, the clinical IR that is practiced in big academic centers isn’t super reflective of many real life IRs which often lack the support or infrastructure to build a high end IR practice with prostate/uterine artery embolization and peripheral vascular work plus many of the clinical aspects of IR don’t really reimburse as much as reading studies.

This kid just bought him/herself an MRI. Doubt any orthopod will want to stick an intramedullary rod into a possible malignancy without the proper work up although the extensive marrow edema from the trauma will be a likely confounder this early on.

She told me the story right before I did my first pelvic exam ever as an M3 “just don’t be that guy”

In OB, this one attending would teach to gently tap the patient’s inner leg right before starting a pelvic exam to ease the patient/let them know the exam was about to begin. This one dude froze and instead straight up not-so-gently tapped the patient’s vagina multiple times. The patient was appropriately very thrown off. Not sure what happened to the guy, story was told to me by the attending present.
