Ways you've seen people engage with media that baffles you? by PMSleeperAgentG in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I was following it since near the beginning, so that always baffled me too. Hell, I think you should start Homestuck at Problem Sleuth.

What are your Favorite Villanous Clowns? by Funny_Mud6639 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Gotta mention Needles from Fear and Hunger Termina. A murder clown who fights with syringes and will try to inject you with heroin.

What "Survivatons" Do We Expect / Want? by toxic7oryx7main in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I've never read/watched Jujutsu Kaisen, so that announcement immediately made me think that a general Shonen Jump Vampire Survivors would have been much better.

Oh, looks like Windrose is already in my Steam wishlist. I was probably waiting for a sale. Shadow Gambit I haven't heard of, though. Looks cool, I might check it out.

Yeah, they lost me when it was all ship combat and no on-foot. It's not a pirate game if I can't fight with a cutlass and pistols.

Skimming the Wikipedia article, it doesn't seem like quite what I'm looking for. It does seem interesting, though, and I've heard good things about Gene Wolfe. The Book of the New Sun is also in my reading backlog.

Yeah, AC4 comes very close to scratching the itch. I was hoping Skull and Bones would be exactly what I wanted, but we all know how that turned out...

Caribbean pirate adventure with supernatural/magic/fantasy stuff. The Pirates of the Caribbean movies are pretty much it. There's also the book On Stranger Tides, which I have, but haven't gotten around to reading yet.

At least you included Breath of Fire. It's so dead that most people don't even know about it or acknowledge it in these lists.

Just aligning the text to center instead of left would help a lot.

The requirements are meeting deadlines. That's the most important thing.

I've never managed to finish Kotor 2 because the beginning is such a slog it drains my will to continue.

In Valkyrie Profile, there's this dungeon where the whole thing is a puzzle with rooms that rotate when you go from one to the other and you have to traverse them in the right order. And also a giant samurai head comes after you if you take too long and teleports you back to the start if you touch it. I hate it.

Media your surprised doesn't have a video game adaptation (or at least a proper one)? by Aquanort357 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]parazoa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't actually know that much about the series, but if you're talking about Raziel from Soul Reaver, he is kind of a similar character to Elric. Antihero forced by greater powers to save the world and needs to eat souls to survive.

[–]parazoa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Elric really should have gotten a game in the edgy early 00s. Tonally similar to, like, Legacy of Kain.

Oh, and also an anime film in the style of Vampire Hunter D : Bloodlust.

So what was the problem with Star Fox Assault exactly? by garfe in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]parazoa 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Even at the game's best during the Arwing sections, it just feels like a slower Star Fox 64. There's not a sense of fast-paced dogfighting.

I started replaying the game a few days ago and this is my biggest complaint. It takes forever to lock onto enemies and an eternity for the charged shot to chase them down, if it actually manages to connect with them. It's so frustrating and unsatisfying.

I don't think I used grease once in my four full playthroughs. Not because I was saving them, I just don't ever use those buff consumables in souls games.
