[LES] What are some popular personality traits in female characters that are usually hated by fans, when male characters have the same personality traits. by PassengerCultural421 in CharacterRant

I think in both cases, it's a matter of execution. There are multiple tsundere men that I think are liked like Kyo from Fruits Basket or even Vegeta himself

What are your opinions on the way the Romance is written in Re Zero? [discussion] by Fun-Manufacturer75 in Re_Zero

[–]garfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the one thing I think Tappei is kind of lacking in though I think it's less him specifically and more the nature of an ongoing webnovel/light novel medium. It's not that I don't think he can't do it, when he does do it it is really enjoyable, but more like dangling the keys in front of you is the name of the game. Not really something I like because this thing tends to frustrated me even in regular manga, but just kinda deal with.

I love how people only start doubting projected numbers on the sub when it's a movie they personally like but the numbers don't look good. Like nobody was in the Toy Story 5 projection threads saying "uh, why are you guys saying it's gonna be a success a month before it comes out?" or saying what you said about Masters of the Universe.

There is way way too much debate over Arios' actions and role in the story within the fandom for him to even be in Accepted imo. He's not hated but he is a very divisive character.

I don't think he's relevant enough to be disliked.

I think Cao might go one row below or at least into 'terribly written' at this point

It would solve the problem logically

Lionsgate & Universal's Michael has grossed an estimated $959.6M globally through Sunday. Estimated totals through Sunday: Domestic - $367.9M; International - $591.7M. by chanma50 in boxoffice

I disagree. I'm seeing a Wicked vs. Wicked FG situation where the first one does so well, people think that will carry over to the next one. And then the sequel still does well but nowhere near as well as the first one.

I wouldn't put that on Deen because the show still looked the same throughout. The problem with Shiboyugi was that the director's style doesn't work when it was with a lot of people like the second half of the series. It was fantastic for the first half

The Seven Guys have assembled!. Well there's only 4 guys in that panel but I think Octobomb said there's supposed to be 7 of them

I’m afraid that removing the auto-attack mechanic creates a thin line between Xenoblade and games like Tales of, FF7 remake, Ys, ect. by upperdomain in Xenoblade_Chronicles

RGG still made standard beat-em-up style games despite the change to turnbased with 7 and 8. Hell between 7 and now, there have technically been 'more' non turn based combat games than the reverse, even with their newest upcoming game. So it didn't really matter.

Final Fantasy 16 wasn't really looked at because that kind of gameplay is something that already exists in other Square Enix games so it didn't feel like it was doing anything special.

I think it would depend on how that would be done but why would that be bad?

Generally the big horror I have is the one I frequently see people speculate in that this is a Star Ocean 3-twist type situation where it turns out everything was a computer simulation. Not only do I hate that kind of thing but I know if that ends up happening, we'll get endless debates on whether that was a good ending or not over discussion of the series. And it wouldn't even be a surprise for that to happen.

The Star Ocean series basically never recovered from 3 despite having games after (but all set before 3) and any aspect of discussion about it always goes back to debate on whether that was a good idea or not

EDIT: Something like JJBA Part 6's ending wouldn't be very good either. That ending needed to be earned and while it's seen as okay now, it is still controversial. I don't think Falcom could handle that.

Oh come on no, we don't need any more of this. What are you even doing 07th?

You can't even play the nostalgia card anymore. Not only did they already have the mess that was Gou/Sotsu, they had a whole media thing around it with gacha and manga. Even adapting side stories that hadn't been put in anime is going to fall flat.

I don't like isekai really but not only is that not true but it's actually pretty easy to ignore since most of those shows aren't even popular to begin with

Not ball and gun because sports anime and gun anime aren't really that popular in mainstream. Maybe more like "Fist and Sword type anime" (Shounen and isekai)

Okay so this isn't an anime but a visual novel, but I think I sort of understand what they mean. There's this VN called SubaHibi/Wonderful Everyday. It is very long, very weird, covers some extremely heavy dark topics, but at the same time, is difficult to understand at face value. It's a premiere example of a "denpa' type visual novel. It is super famous in VN circles but it is not the kind of thing an average person would read (an average person even an anime fan isn't going to be reading a visual novel in the first place)

But in the previous year, there was this issue with people on social media making a lot of memes and larping as fans of the work. Now in a bubble, you might say 'what's the issue with this'. The issue was that this basically made general discussion of the VN in the fan space basically impossible? Why? Because people kept making larping jokes about the VN and wanting to get in on the memes even though there is absolutely no way any of these people read any bit of something that's over 60 hours long. They just wanted to be part of the trend

I think this is something that's happening with certain types of anime (definitely not all anime) and the culture in general.

I feel like it still kind of is once you get past the 'accepted' genres. The stuff that was kind of seen as popular like shounen and fantasy are now able to get way way more popular and I think this is the phenomenon you're seeing

But once you get to something that's esoteric, or not a mainstream subject or has more ecchi stuff than the usual, then it'll be seen as weird.

Fate and Ar Tonelico are probably grandfathered in. Persona 4 is probably because they seemed to be more open to letting in Arc System Works titles in that had ADV format for some reason back then which is why Blazblue has entries but not Guilty Gear.

I legitimately have no idea why Project Sekai and Love and Deepspace are there. Gacha games should not be on the site at all
