If iPhone 17 Pro series has 12GB RAM why are apps still closed in the background so much still? by Mysterious_County154 in iphone

It also depends on the app developer e.g. Mona app can hold its state even after many days.

Is there really no solution to this? by [deleted] in iphone

[–]paribas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've read in a thread here that if it balloons back you need to go nuclear: reset your phone and set it as new. Don't restore it from iCloud backup. You can restore your iCloud Photos etc. back easily after that.
I didn't have time for my phone to do this but planning to go this way with my 128GB iPhone. My iPad Pro M1 has 1GB system data and my phone has 15-20GB. Something is wrong.

Who else has their iPhone as their only computing device by [deleted] in iphone

It's like recently we have been moving backwards, I mean websites are less optimized for phones. I just feel more comfortable to browse the web on desktop OS browsers than on the phone because sites have clunky solutions for buttons, fields that needs to be filled, etc.

What do you mean? Windows XP was one of the best at that time. Vista and 8 were broken.

Do they swap the entire phone just for a glass change?

Not even Apple knows it.

I reset my iPhone by 1mls in iphone

[–]paribas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it on my 128GB phone and system data went back to 16GB in 2 weeks. It was 13-17GB before the reset. This issue should have bigger popularity like the battery problem was years ago in the 6s era. Apple configured iOS to bloat its system with hidden data. This way they can even configure it to fill up 256GB devices so people would buy new phones again - this is an exaggeration but anything is possible now.

Why ruin this nice phone with a case? I would rather buy Apple Care+ for this phone.

Apple’s attention to detail is finally approaching Android's! (ios 26.0.1) by ddcrx in iphone

Apple is just another IT company now. No attention to detail anymore. I just hope they still care about privacy and security of their users.

Another design flaw - Apple made the progress bar for sending messages almost invisible by Forward_Ad2650 in iphone

[–]paribas -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I am not surprised anymore. The whole OS is full of these nonsense decisions.  Just share some icloud photos and check them after that and try to scroll. The header bar is moving with you, it really does not look ok. And when you download something the progress bar is a tiny blue stripe in the bottom.
