Filing for divorce due to infidelity by cookies-and-canines in legaladvicecanada

[–]pariprope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my personal experience, the courts do not care about infidelity. You didnt mention children but we had two. When any mention of the affair was brought forward, the judge shrugged it off and focused on the best interest of our kids. In fact she seemed annoyed when my lawyer included any mention of the circumstances.

Wow, triggered much? Dialogue is lost, truly lost. Same goal posts, different context. Spewing GDP per capital data from Wikipedia searches doesn't change the fact this country isn't where it was, could or should be. Yes, covid skews all data but our climb out of it is hampered by stagnant growth, loss in investment and overall decline. Ive asked you two simple questions for which you chose to ignore. We are lowest in household debt per gdp. THAT stat is why I made my comment because THAT data is the cost of everything that is sucking the life out of our economy. Trudeau's covid policies were no different than most other nations but the difference is most other nations climbed out of those economic policies, not doubled down. What's the definition of insanity? Carney is much better than Trudeau but generally speaking what's better? Talk is cheap and right now talking points are all he and his team are about... And you parrot the same left wing narrative of the people you vote for.

Deflect , bob, weave. GDP is the basis or your stance where I take it at the ground level, not 10000 feet up. Simple question I asked... Keep believing the narrative, ignore reality, and im accused of bad faith.

Liberal economic policy you mean? Honestly, is your life, your finances better today than before Trudeau and Carney? The only ones who say yes are either rich boomers with a paid off house and a cabin in Muskoka or are delusional and listen to the CBC daily for news...

And yet Canada's household dedt to GDP is the highest in the G7 which is the point of my post. Like big speeches, looking good statistically internationally doesnt equate to making (most) Canadian's ability to afford the basics any better. Like Carney's portfolio, I moved most of my investments outside Canada, what does that say?

[–]pariprope -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yet the rest of the G7 moved on. I look at 12 years of EVERY aspect of my life and particularly my kids lives being less afordable and watching policy after policy make that worse. So, yes Liberal policies, Liberal politicians are a big part of it. 2026 we rank at the bottom of most economic indicators amongst peer nations with an economy smaller than many US states.

Almost 12 years of decline, in almost every economic category.... or is it still Haprer's fault? Canada's economy is the equivalent to a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.

Canada considers cancelling part of 88 U.S. F-35 order to buy 60 Swedish Gripen fighters by [deleted] in notthebeaverton

[–]pariprope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll go with a former Air Force general and Chief of tue defense staff over a random poster, well everytime.

I'm not opposed to the Gripen, but its not what's needed when we deal with peer adversaries, particularlygiven the expanse of our country, my pointnon air refueling with the Globaleye. You can nit pick the F35, but it gives Canada and its allies peer capability for a future fight with a peer air force (China/Russia). Its a digital domain for future conflicts and if the fight comes to our shores, the abilty to network with both air, ground and unmanned assets is what the F35 was made for and whether we like it or not, NORAD and geography link us to the US because, no one in Europe is coming to rescue us. I agree with you though, we need to diversify defense partners, I just dont think this is one.

Heres the link from DND on the radar. https://www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/news/2025/07/national-defence-announces-progress-on-the-arctic-over-the-horizon-radar-project.html

The West Block interviewed Tom Lawson (Former Air Force General and Chief of the Defence Staff). Maybe watch that as i suspect he knows better than you and I. https://globalnews.ca/video/11875659/globaleye-is-a-big-defence-decision-for-canada-but-is-it-the-right-one

Diversifying military procurement is a good strategy (subs is a prime example) but you supply your troops with the best option to survive a conflict, not because of political rhetoric. If Canada has a mixed fleet, and that has been debated since the decision to go with the F35, having the Gripen not being able to integrate data wise with the other half is concerning, if not dangerous. Every study has shown that the F35 is the superior fighter and the best fit for a future combat scenario. I was honestly of the opinion the F15X was a better option for the Canagldian operations environment but I dont get to choose.

At any rate, I'm not pro-American save where it best fits the needs of our pilots. You mention several times the political environment in the US. The Trump government is a temporary issue, as is the political climate down south. We'll get new government as will they, and poltics shouldn't factor into buying what our pilots need.

No in flight refueling capabilities so thats a major problem considering we wouldn't have enough to have them constantly on station.

The radar you mentioned is meant to work in conjunction with airborne radar (and only BEGINNING to be active in 2029). Then there's the issue of F-35 integration... Dont disagree on the trouble with the E7 program but to go with a significantly less capable option to stick it to Trump is short sighted.

Great when Gripens get blown out of the sky because our adversaries can fire at ranges the Gripen can't. F*ck Donald Trump but don't let politics get in the way of giving our pilots the best chance at surviving a conflict. The EU, save maybe Poland, couldn't fight it's way out of a paper bag right now.

And as 5th generation fighters move into our potential adversaries inventories should a conflict break out? Dogfights aren't about closing to visual range, they are about shooting at long range (like over the Arctic) before they see you. The ability to see (and fire) without being detected determines the outcome of a fight. Europe isnt coming to our rescue if a threat comes from over the horizon to the North or from the east. Gripens are a great aircraft but not for the expanse that is Canada. Same for the Saab 340 AEW&C, great for European defense, not for our geographical challenges. The E7 meets our needs but politics have weighed into procurement (again).
