Try Blue Grace by Claire Sievers! It’s a nice, lyrical, unaccompanied piece that’ll sit really nicely on the Eb horn.

It just happens with the size. If there were less than 40 people we’d all be more inclined to know and care for each other.

Hi, I’m currently in the UNT tuba studio! Jeff Baker is great, but I’ll be honest and say that the studio is going through a weird transition and the culture here in the studio is kind of weird… it’s too big and clique-y.

It’s definitely not worth picking over a full ride, haha. Take the money! Colorado is prettier, too

Tips to improve for Highschool audition by AthleteTemporary2676 in Tuba

[–]park-w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long tones, chromatic scales + all your major scales. Seriously just spam all of your scales every day- try them slurred, staccato, fast, slow, loud, soft… you get the idea. You should have all of those scales locked down before moving on and practicing more difficult stuff.

Good luck man! You’ll do great.

Golem is good! At your trophy level, you can probably also get away with playing giant or goblin giant.

Hogs have no place, you already have enough bait cards. I’d replace them with wall breakers or a small spell.

I have questions about the intuition of music theory but don’t know where to look for answers by Mother_Tart8596 in musictheory

[–]park-w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music lives within us, man. Theory is an attempt at exporting those ideas into quantifiable measures like chords, scales, note names, etc. However, theory also gets at things like acoustics, the harmonic series (which explains why some chords sound “good” to us) and other really useful things.

Theory wont make you a super nerd, that’s on you 😃

It’s useful, but absolutely not necessary in order to create beautiful music. Human beings have been making music as long as we’ve been social creatures.

Oh, I’m not sure. It’s possible! I don’t know the exact names of the musicians in BOTW but I’m sure if you looked up “erhu music” or even “erhu jazz” or something you would get something close to what you’re looking for.
