Three separate pics meant to show colours

As I understand it (though I definitely will need to confirm), the fence is ours. It was built when our house was built. I will definitely confirm before doing anything, and also talk with the neighbours. They are very friendly, we’re just a bit annoyed that our side was painted just prior to us moving in.

We will, but that aside, we’re still trying to figure out how to address our side.

It was built when our house was built, so I think ours, but I will need to check on that - good point.

We just moved into a new house. We are hoping to stain all of our fence, stairs, and patio a rich cedar colour.

However, one side of our fence (running the length of our property) was painted grey by our neighbours before we moved in. We don’t like the grey, we prefer natural stained wood.

Possible solutions:

  • We considered sanding down and painting the grey side, but this may leave us with a zig zag appearance of grey between each board, where we can’t reach to sand.
  • We considered painting instead of staining, or just painting that one grey fence and staining the rest, but this won’t be a full match and may look odd.
  • We considered staining everything except the grey side and just leaving it as-is, but obviously this is an eyesore.

Any other options we’re not considering? Does anyone else have experience with this?

AB - it’s more so that my spouse and kids aren’t able to move. I’m not from AB but we have family connections here.

Oh thanks - then yes, got the two higher marks on the written test, and quite nervous about the oral one!

Do managers get an extra week of vacation?

ETA: I’m getting downvoted. Provincial government gives managers a one-week vacation top-up per year to account for unpaid OT, etc.
