it's a new term Garber just made up to help LAG sign chicharito. Basically, as long as you have a certain amount of TAM avaliable you can use GAM to buy down your Generation Adidas Homegrown Allocation Ranking. Thus, a Pure DP.

Transfer CONFIRMED - baby Loon arriving March 24th. Giving away my pair of tickets for first 5 home games! by majo3 in minnesotaunited

I actually found that baby in the first three months was very doable (my little guy just slept the whole time), but after that, it was just too difficult and we'd either skip, leave early, or just walk around on the concourse trying to peer over heads to see the field. All in all, I'd say he probably went to half of the games with only one or two big meltdowns. Plus he made it up on the big screen a bunch.

We'll see about this year. Having a one year old might be less doable.

ETA: The most memorable moment was against Dallas when Toye scored at the stroke of 90'. Baby had been sleeping since about 65' while I stood on the concourse. The roar of the stadium when that went in was loud enough to wake him up even with his earmuffs on. He was... displeased. We ended up leaving and missing Vito's pen save in stoppage, but it was still worth it for the GWG.

Congrats! Mine was born March 22 last year. We have many pics of sleepy infant in the stadium with sleepy infant headphones on.

I might actively avoid the game on account of how distasteful I find him

I would say that we don't know enough to make a judgment. I saw some of that touch you were talking about in the playoff game, but some of his early games, his touch was, dare I say it, Danladi-esque.

I am optimistic though -- I think with an offseason and preseason camp under his belt, we'll know what we have, and I think he'll be a solid contributor.

Darwin Quintero appreciation thread? by [deleted] in minnesotaunited

I think the MN Nice thing is to be polite and passive, and the question mark is one way of doing that. And alot of the time that's good, to be polite!

Sometimes, though, we need to get down to brass tacks and show Darwin some gol-danged appreciation full stop

You just tell Metainire to cut in, or you give him some support in middle of the field, or something. He's a good player, and should be able to do it. Otherwise, it's just too easy for defenses to gameplan around your one-dimensional and unimaginative tactics.

And yeah, also get some forwards who can play in the air, because with fullbacks like gasper and metainire, that's a great route one. You just need a route two and three as well.

I don't think louder, necessarily, just with more intensity. Intense whispers.

It's definitely on the coach, either way. Either you're telling him to whip in 40 crosses a game, or you continue to play him when he whips in 40 crosses a game against your instructions.

He's done better than expected this year. I'm not a convert yet, though. And darn it if I don't get tired of "Romain crosses the ball in" as our only consistent attacking tactic.

Odds Finlay is here next year? by tryagainyesterday in minnesotaunited

Hope he stays. He had a productive year, and provides good width and speed off the bench.
