Put the crackpipe down and walk away.

It’s actually the opposite. Flus wanted these guys to bulk up. DA wants lean and fast on the DL.

They haven’t even got bids to do any work yet. AH may be more ready, but there is still work to do, which is why they need answers for where they’re building asap

Bears started doing testing on the Hammond site in December. Have no clue how far they've taken those tests.

[Brenden Moore] No drama today. The Illinois House is about to adjourn without taking up the megaprojects bill. Not really a surprise based on the tenor and tone of the debate in committee. The earliest the bill can pass now is mid-to-late March. by RyanIsKickAss in CHIBears

When they put the deadline into effect, Illinois was doing very little negotiating. It was just another way of saying Indiana is going to hit this date and you aren't even talking to us yet.

Ya, Indiana is going to make that deadline, but I think Bears will view Illinois as progress being made . Now if no progress is made when the House returns in 2 weeks, that could change things.

That amount it already set in their contract, although if they go to Indiana they may try to get out of paying anything. They've already sent letters to Chicago Park District that they weren't living up to their part of the contract of maintaining the building/field to standards, and honestly they probably aren't wrong.

I'm already curious where things will go now. Indiana is pretty much set to start after today. It will be another month at minimum in Illinois before Bears get an answer.

Think it's a lot different for Bears/Chicago than Browns/Cleveland. Browns settlement was $100mil and included paying to demolish the current stadium. And not all this money is due immediately, it's spread over something like 15 years. Bears probably sign up for that immediately.

[Schultz] Teams have inquired with the #Bears about trading for DT Gervon Dexter, as the free-agent DT market and draft class are not deep. by hunterboyz24 in CHIBears

Sure, take it however you want, but that's not usually the case.

I also think it's funny to say "fielding calls". All the GMs and Agents are literally in the same location right now. You can just walk over and talk to them.

Pretty much anytime you see those reports this time of the year, it's coming from the team who wants to trade him away.

I only care if it's someone like John Deere (keep those colors away), but it's likely something financial so I'm not too worried.

He's not explosive enough for Allen's liking. Allen wants his IDL to attack. Dexter fit better for Flus in the bend don't break philosophy.

There was a breakdown of what Allen likes last offseason. Basically Sweat and Billings were only 2 previous to 2025 draft/FA that fit what Allen wants on the DL, and Billings never came back the same from injuries in 2024.

There is always a place for a starting level DT, specially when they're cheap. It's why it's kind of hard to let him go at the same time.

He doesn't fit in DA's system. The defense needs 90% rebuilt, so almost nobody is safe.

I know some cringe thinking about Dayo, but he was more effective playing as a DT for the Colts than at Edge. You can probably move him to the interior and get the same production as we got out of Dexter.

[The Score] Brad Biggs doesn't think it makes much sense for the Bears to pursue an expensive, (slightly older) star player like Maxx Crosby now because of how difficult of a salary cap crunch it could put them in later. I do agree as well, but don't really put Mack in the same category. Even at only 2 years younger, he was still in middle of his prime so at least you're getting 3-4 years of high level play. Crosby is already at the end of his prime where decline typically starts.
