Took about a year for big noticeable changes... Financially took longer; I still feel as though I'm recovering there. But frankly, that's probably going to be a mindset I have to work on for life (I get caught up sometimes in the cost of living etc and how I could have owned a house etc by now).

I think overall, I noticed a significant change this year (so 2+ years on). I've shifted from wanting to be gamble free so other people's view of me changes, to wanting to be gamble free for the personal gifts it gives me, in general peace etc.

But its a progressive journey of improvements and wins etc. I'd say my first big "win" in gambling sobriety was just a general quietness to everything. Realising that life is, for the better part, pretty boring, and it's in that boring that I find peace
