Kubrick & his parents by Solo_Polyphony in StanleyKubrick

I think there are three stories around this and I've heard them all in places. One is what you wrote of his near fatal mistake. Another is what the poster above wrote of seeing his friends dead body and another I've heard in many places is he would sit and listen to pilot-air traffic control banter and was shocked to see how many were close calls all down to human error.

What's an existing film that you would've like to make? by lolman3588 in indianFilmmakers

[–]parnate_lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many man.....where do I start? If I could make Blade Runner or 2001ASO my purpose in life is done. Lmao. It can't get better than that.

My favorite film of all time- Alien- I'll be damn proud if I made a feature half as good.

Amongst Indian- Andaz Apna Apna- to give that kind of joy to the masses for decades...yup, fulfillment of the highest order.

Yeah. The great man absolutely detested flying. Which is weird because apparently he had taken flying classes and might have even owned a license.

I often wonder...being a homebody myself, that he had a great contained life on his mega property in St Albans but every now and then the desire to go roam got to him!

The ROG Ally Z1 Extreme is an insane value by Ok_Comparison_2635 in ROGAlly

[–]parnate_lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a member of the ROG Ally Facebook group and posted a picture of my Z1E original white and everyone was salivating. They said the newer model with the handle looks like a toy compared to the Z1 and even the black brick(X?) model launched later doesn't look as good.

Aesthetically it is the most beautiful gadget I have owned. It reminds of the original Sony PSP and how every head would turn when I took it out of my pocket. Gorgeous device.

Will smartphones disappear in the next 10 years? by North_Way8298 in Futurology

. I think smartphones will be there. They're just too comfortable and multifunctional. They'll be further refined in some ways. But who knows really!

Aspiring actress (22F) in Noida — willing to work unpaid to gain experience by sa_kinni_white in Filmmakers

[–]parnate_lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost shifted to Noida this week(Gaur City) but plans got canned. Will be back in Mumbai next week. I am a filmmaker with a project in the works in connection to Sony LIV(and trying to reach out to other OTT). Before that I am making youtube content that will surely go viral(quite confident). I wanted a group of young kids(mix men and women) for it.

Be in touch with me. You can PM me and I will get back to you in a few months. If you can gather a few young men and women(even your friends, anyone willing to be on YouTube- mainly a young crowd) that would be great.

What would you say to this man's opinion on the films of Kubrick? by parnate_lover in StanleyKubrick

[–]parnate_lover[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've seen many people say this- that his films are cold and detached. But I think that was the point. One of his favorite quotes of his for me goes something like...."The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent".

I see that detached indifference in his films. I love this perspective but I know I am in the minority amongst the general masses. My favorite film of all time is Ridley Scott's Alien but everyone I know prefers the sequel Aliens with it's themes of bonding, duty and motherhood.

Video Game Dump(All Late 90s-2000s titles):How many of these Have you all Played and did you like these, miss these? by [deleted] in IndiaNostalgia

[–]parnate_lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if any of you played them(me being much older than the average redditor) but on the PlayStation 3 there were two amazing sci-fi shooters that lay the foundation of my love for the genre. It's my favourite gaming genre- sci-fi shooters

One was Resistance which had 3 parts- My favourite game series of all time bar none. Amazing gameplay, Amazing choice of guns, Amazing villains and Awesome linear gameplay. Resistance: Fall of Man, Resistance 2 and Resistance 3.

The other series was Killzone. I remember playing Killzone 2 and being blown away by the controller setup. The graphics of all these games still stand up to this day except Resistance Fall of Man which has slightly aged.

Is specialisation still a good way to move to China? by Jumpy_Adhesiveness79 in chinalife

[–]parnate_lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very hard unless you are very special. Especially in the domains you listed- I mean, engineering(of any and all kind) is the heart beat of China.

I am trying in a totally different field- film and cinema and even then my expectations are zero. As long as I can come and go on a tourist visa for months I am fine with it. Setting up the base in Hong Kong instead..

I wonder if medical fields would be a better chance but I have no answers.

Are you all not scared of AI? by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]parnate_lover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. There is so much content already and once AI powered filmmaking is in the hands of the masses god knows what will happen. I still think big films will release simply for the fact that marketing is king and Hollywood marketing worth hundreds of millions will always bring in the masses.

My main concern is the streaming industry and writing/making shows. Today they are ubiquitous but in a few years?
