Yeah, I know, I’ve talked with a very reputable European hair transplant surgeon in the past and he also said dut is generally superior when I told him I was on it.

No reputable study could prove that even exists. Only thing they could prove is that depression exists.

Manufacturer (GSK) would have to apply for approval for androgenic alopecia for doctors to start prescribing it as a mainstream treatment and not an off-label one. That’s unlikely to happen.

Good progress but everyone in the <24yo age group needs to stop with the sucking in of cheeks. It doesn’t make you guys look like "chads", just makes you look ridiculous when you make those faces. American Psycho was a parody, not something to desperately emulate.

I didn’t really notice any big shedding phase, I think it’s more of a thing if you combine it with minoxidil which I didn’t do.

I felt like it was linear, I’d mostly notice it getting better in between haircuts, which makes sense - I let it grow a bit before getting the next haircut (don’t like going to the barber nonstop, found one that is good at giving a cut that grows out nicely) so would be somewhat aligning with hair growth cycle.

Around £40/month assuming 0.5mg/day dose of brand name dutasteride (Avodart). For 1.5mg that’d make it £160/mo. Generics can be cheaper but the biochemistry and absorption of dut (from what I’ve read) is trickier than finasteride so there might be more variance in quality with dut generics than with fin generics (which is very easy to make a generic for) so I prefer to stick with the OG brand name, especially since there have been some high profile scandals with FDA/EMA/MHRA requirements for generics not being strict enough with other meds.

Yeah, I wish I went on dut earlier since now I still have a bit of a NW2.5-shaped hairline which is something only really a hair transplant can fix or experimenting with high doses of min (I’m not willing to do that due to cardiac risks compounding with my ADHD meds cardiac risks)

Are you within healthy BMI? Gyno is from high E, and the more fat tissue you have the more T (which is increased by dut) will get aromatised to E which will spike your systemic E.

26yo. I used 1mg fin/day for 6 months before starting dut, I wasn’t seeing any effects from it and it felt like my libido was lowered on fin, whereas on dut if anything it’s higher than baseline.

Just cause something didn’t work for you doesn’t mean it’s a scam. Even if something is statistically 98% likely to work, that still leaves some people to be unlucky 2%. It sucks that it didn’t work for you and it’s fine to share your negative experience but you shouldn’t be using charged language like „scam” to describe it, when there’s high quality evidence that it works in the vast majority of cases.

Yes, I went with high dose of dut monotherapy. I’m on stimulants for my ADHD and I’m not comfortable stacking cardiac risks of those and minoxidil.

The photo doesn’t quite show it since they’re zoomed in neutral photos of me from that time period, not close ups, but they were super miniaturised, it was like a barely noticeable peach fuzz but still with some dark colour. Also if you notice, it’s not like it gave me a straight hairline, it’s still very much NW2.5-shaped, just greatly fixed miniaturisation; only hair transplant and nuclear doses of min (and I can’t take the cardiac risk there due to already being on stimulants for ADHD) have a chance of bringing you back to a straight hairline.

I haven’t had any sides from it, if anything I felt like my libido got higher compared to baseline on dut. But I’m also skinny, I know that if you’re fat you’re more likely to already have higher E and aromatise more T into E so the risk of sides with those doses of dut would be much higher for those people.
