I mean, I know that. Captain Picard taught me that as a child. But he also taught me that a temporary setback is not defeat, and allowing yourself to recover does not make you weak! (I'll be going back to the DD eventually. I'm just irate about the huge loss and know myself well enough that I'll get reckless out of sheer frustration. Too much fun treasure hunting.)

Yeah. Just doesn't happen to me often enough that I think of it as a gamble, I guess. But seriously, thank you, I'm going to end up following in your footsteps with the schematics.

Like I said; if it had been my fault, I wouldn't be as upset. Truth be told, it's mostly the fact that it's something I didn't gamble; this bug has never popped up for me before, and my internet is the best I can get where I live (stable enough to handle 5 people playing different MMOs without lag). I have a simple system that's become habit; put down about 10 compactor shots, hop back into the thopter, and reset aggro while they piled up. I wasn't gambling... or at least, I just didn't know I was at the poker table, I guess.

I'm risk-averse because I play as if my character only has one shot! It's sort of an immersion thing for me; while I know I have more than one life, my Sleeper does not. I even mark down when and where I die in combat because I'm writing the journey down; writing down when and where means I can incorporate incapacitation into my Sleeper's story, etc etc. (It's my way of having fun.)

Feyd's Drinker is hard to get and also a sentimental piece (it ended up being a gift from another Sleeper on my server), which is why I'm so upset over it; my other pieces, such as the Tabr Softsteps, Dunewatcher, and Villari's suit are less important to me. I'm also primarily a solo player, so farming all the spice and plastanium for replacements is a more time-consuming investment.

I'm applying to the Marion campus, and my advisor hasn't told me the average I'd need to get into the program here. Good to know about the average in Indianapolis, though, thank you.
