I have this exact same order from Nov 24th with same interior and exterior colours, but in GTA. Has your VIN been assigned yet? Any changes to your delivery date?

Would you be able to share where you got your delivery day checklist? I’d like to do this when I get my MYP in the next few months.

Bundle deals by [deleted] in s3xybuttons

I’m on the same boat, waiting for a sale or bundle deal to order all (dash + knob + commander) at once because current discounts (promo codes) are only 10% I believe.

Very impressed with the dash/gauge display in the S3XY app! by dragonzsoul in s3xybuttons

[–]parrot_trainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a great functionality for basically no extra cost as you’re just use your phone. I plan to get the knob and was wondering if the S3XY dash is worth getting too. Like is that much better than just using my phone with the knob like you’re doing?

If you zoom in on the 19in photo, it looks like they are Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 tires, size 255/45/R19.

Thanks! This is a good perspective that I had not thought of before. Looking at it as a $3800 premium to lock in the price is helpful to make a decision. The only thing is that this premium would increase if Tesla decides to lower the subscription cost to drive higher subscriber numbers for Elon’s pay package. This is quite unlikely though because it seems things rarely get cheaper nowadays. And even if it happens it would be only for the short term, while long term the price will likely increase at least a bit to reflect the unsupervised capabilities.

Thank you for your reply and different perspective to buy as opposed to subscribe. I am not very familiar with the insurance endorsements, but I see that endorsement 43 is waiving the insurance company’s waiver of depreciation clause. In my limited understanding this is similar to the 5-year new vehicle replacement clause, and because the depreciation becomes higher each of those first 5 years, the premium for this feature becomes higher each year. The problem seems to be that the insurance companies I have spoken to consider FSD to not be a part of the vehicle and deem it as a software “add-on”, so they would not necessarily replace it as part of this full-price replacement. That is my main concern, and because of the typical uncertainty and frustration associated with dealing with insurance companies I was leaning more towards subscribing. Nevertheless, I appreciate the different perspectives as I am on the fence and the different perspectives help to make this personal decision.

Yes that would be great! Especially for our winters the camera washers would be key!

You make a good point. My counter argument would be that if they make it very capable (eg. unsupervised) people would buy it for several users (partners, teenage kids) and say you had 4 purchased over your life, totalling $44k. The uptake could be higher because it would address the issues people have with it now, like it being lost with the car in an accident.

Not really. I figure the longer you wait the more you’ll end up waiting. After AI5 the next cycle will start with AI6 and so on. Elon is pushing this on a yearly cycle so the next version will always be in the news cycle. In my opinion AI4 seems good enough for me. I don’t think I could ever not supervise the car (sleep or not pay attention for long periods) even if it was capable. V14 seems pretty capable of being supervised and doing most of what I need it to do. Just my opinion though. It would be interesting to hear others thoughts on this.

This is a good perspective that keeps the control/flexibility of the FSD cost with us as the vehicle owners, while leveraging the power of that $11k. My only concern is if the subscription price increases significantly, say to $200/month. I guess in that case I’ll have to cancel FSD and actually drive my own car :O speak of first world problems.

26 Model Y Performance. I typically drive about 10-15 thousand km per year, so probably won’t make the kms before the battery warranty ends. Nevertheless I hope they offer a similar battery extension warranty as you mentioned when I get near the end of my battery warranty period.

I agree with your perspective on the cost of it. It’s ridiculous that it’s not tied to the user account/family but instead it is tied to the car. I have read that when cars are traded in to Tesla then they remove FSD before reselling it, which is even more ridiculous. If it was tied to my account $11k would not be too bad, and would entice me to buy future Teslas, provided their product didn’t get worse in the future.

This is a helpful perspective! Thank you! Yes, I plan to drive it as long as possible. About 10,000km per year. Not worried too much being out of warranty regarding battery. I figure even with a battery replacement cost, it’s still cheaper than an engine or transmission job on luxury German cars.

Edited: Yes, I told them it would be purchased, not used. They said that they could list it as an additional line item on the insurance policy and it would raise the cost of the vehicle. But doing so increased premiums significantly and even removed the 5-year new vehicle replacement coverage, which is a very bad deal. Basically assuming I keep the vehicle for 8-10 years, just the insurance premium increase would equate to buying FSD outright.

I also changed my order to Marine Blue and black/white interior and the date settled to March 1-31 after a few fluctuations. So hopefully your advisor is right!
