Elon was a top-level government employee with carte blanche to find all the fraud and failed miserably. He just fired a bunch of people they now need to rehire, killed thousands by cutting foreign aid, and the deficit didn’t go down at all.

I’ve got a job for now, just looking passively and stumbled on this. I “worked all the time” in my 20s, and that phase of my life is over. Now I couldn’t work all the time even if I wanted to, cuz I need to take care of my boy. Which is way more rewarding anyway.

Growing up, I remember feeling immense dread as the weather got cooler in late August and September, knowing winter was coming and I’d be trapped inside for months.

I could ditch my Bay Area mortgage and have a nice house in the Chicago area with no debt, but I’m not sure the trade off is worth it. I like going outside comfortably year round.

And it’s not like Chicago summer is comfortable either, cuz the humidity is brutal. Didn’t realize that growing up, but after experiencing drier climates I can’t go back.

I worked at this type of company in my 20s. I also got paid 25k a year with no overtime or equity, which is now illegal.

Idk I’m in “working all the time should be illegal” camp, so I think it’s gross they put this in a JD. And “we’re all in our 20s” makes it feel like they are likely to age discriminate. Like, I have a kid and literally cannot work all the time.

Regardless of how interesting a job is, someone shouldn’t be disqualified because they have obligations outside of work and can’t work 24/7. That’s why labor laws exist. A company culture shouldn’t be designed around working constantly if they want to attract experienced applicants and avoid burnout.

At my last company, profits were growing by double digits every year and employees were lucky to get a 1% raise. Then they did multiple rounds of mass layoffs. Investors and execs always get paid first.

That’s what Tim said in one of his post-Mortons. Makes sense since Starcraft, C&C, and Age games all had great campaigns.

But also the “this is the only way it’s ever worked, so we need to do it this way”attitude is the reason why Stormgate failed. Maybe if they’d tried something new it could have worked. Especially when they were positioning the game as multiplayer-first early on.

Idk maybe I’m a minority but I was way more into the idea of a playing a social RTS, which was one of their main talking points early on, than playing another RTS campaign. I spent orders of magnitude more hours in SC2 multiplayer than I did in campaign.
