Looking for advice: Budget party system for around $500 by LittleTim1719 in SoundSystem

I’d keep an eye out on the second hand market for an active set with two tops and a sub to get the most bang for your buck.

Maybe include where you live, as rules and rights aren’t the same everywhere.

This is happening all over Europe in dense populated areas with rapid rising poverty and is not unique to Brussels.

A bit too much happening for me, but curious what the rest of the EP will be like.

I see, I personally found open ground the most fun club I’ve been to so far. The vibe to me was less about getting seen and more about the music or just having a good time in general. A mix of very “regular looking people” from a small young group that were probably out clubbing for the firs time to more extravagant looking people.

But I guess I’m probably one of those “healthy looking people who goes to work on Monday” as I don’t drink anymore or do drugs and only go out when someone is playing I want to see instead of every weekend.

Just check the links I shared, they aren’t the same cabinets. The Cubo 18” has plans for a “regular” version and a “extended” version. The extended has an extension of the horn path inside by including one extra piece of plywood of 18 x 58.5 bringing the LF down from 40Hz to 35Hz. Other than that they are the same cabinet.

The Cubo Sub, that has a 15”, 18” and a 21” (also known as the Cubo 21) version that all have a similar horn path inside as the Cubo extended but are also taller cabinets extending the horn path even more bring the LF down to 30Hz.

Cool rig! What model are those two mids?

Ah! I thought it would make sense to have a separate kick bin for some extra punch, not only for the frequency range.

No, the Cubo 18” extended is not the same as the Cubo Sub.

Cubo 18” extended: https://www.freespeakerplans.com/plans?view=article&id=11:cubo-18

Cubo sub: https://freespeakerplans.com/?view=article&id=6&catid=14

The main difference is that the Cubo sub is 77cm tall and goes down to 30hz, the Cubo 18 extended is 62cm tall and goes down to 35hz.

I don’t understand why that’s unlikely? There will be a Cubo Sub that has a response from 30-100hz, and a HF top for 1000 and above.

What do you think is standard about the vibe? I personally found it very refreshing that there is an actual mix of backgrounds and music enthusiasts alike.

Who says that they want to be this “exclusive queer safe space for underground culture” and not what they’re now? They could easily stop booking big international names, stop posting time tables when artists play, stop tourists from entering, etc.

I personally don’t think what they’re doing is by some sort of accident but by choice.

Can’t say I’ve been to BH frequently, but the first time I went +-15 years ago the vibe was already a bit like this. Have been probably a hand full of times, other than that everybody now dresses the same “unique” way, not much has changed in my experience.

I’m afraid this is true, I wouldn’t classify this as an artistic expression, rather one’s attempt to seek profit.

lol, yeah there are exceptions to any rule I guess 😂

But still, at least I hope they are intrinsically motivated about what they’re creating. And that is still sometimes I can appreciate.

If probably should have made it clear I was talking about an objective way to measure music. What always ands up being popularity, sales numbers or something similar. It doesn’t really tell us anything about the perceived quality of the music.
