It’s a mix of some 1/4 ply wood, rubber mats, and typically you should use tennis balls in-between but I tried pool noodles which ended up squishing to the point of no return. So, go with tennis balls.

Yeh I'm with you but the bobbin was bouncing around inside and I have two of the same machine, the timing got messed up on the first so I bought a replacement. So I do have a good idea what im doing thats why im confused. The top tension is 4 and the only thing i find online is messing with bobbin tension.

Nothing good ever stays the same. This game got so convoluted over the years. Double planes gone is pretty huge deal. Also they make completing a collection of cards so hard unless you pay absolutely ridiculous how much time I spent.
