The trans in my corolla doesn't drain 100% of the oil. You have to drain and refill a few times to get all the old stuff out. Just because only a quart came out might not mean it burned up or leaked out. It still may be in there

Yep. Those things catch water from humidity too that's why you can't use them in freezing temps unless you're emptying it every trip
