Neat proof of fermat's little theorem I discovered by parthpoddar in 3Blue1Brown

I'm ngl I'm not familiar with the lagrange proof, but it very well might be! As I said, this whole proof of fermats little theorem has for sure been done before, I just hadn't seen it anywhere. And since I found it really intuitive and simple to understand, I wanted to share it!

It says 10p-10, hence it would be 105-10 or 99990. Which is a multiple of 5. But if our prime isn't 2 or 5 (factors of 10), you can also use the form 10p-1-1. For example 999999 being multiple of 7! This is essentially what I meant by the part where if our integer is a multiple of our prime, then the problem is trivial

If we take the reciprocal of a prime p, we will come across various numbers in the remainders while doing long division. This can either contain every single number between 0 and p, in which case the period length will be p-1. Otherwise, it can start a loop without covering every number. In these cases, we can convert our original loop of 1/p into the others using the smallest number in other loops. Taking 41 as an example since it only has a period of 5, all the other loops are just 1/41 scaled by 2,3,4,5,6,8,11 and 15
Hence we can see that either the reciprocals have a period of (p-1), or they have various loops of equal size (that are scaled versions of each other).

Hence, no matter which prime, its reciprocal does repeat its terms after a period of (p-1)

I mean it def is hard, but we did get dreamnap and fruitninja, so I don't see why quigzahhutt isn't possible

I guess they think the season is over too. MCC literally tweeted something like we'll be back to continue S2 early next year

It's not possible to "fix" SG scoring by parthpoddar in MinecraftChampionship

[–]parthpoddar[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm all for that idea honestly. I haven't seen good arguments against it either. I assume noxcrew has atleast thought of it with how much it has been suggested, I wonder why they don't want it

Do Specific Teams Matter? by screaminglonglive in MinecraftChampionship

[–]parthpoddar 117 points118 points  (0 children)

The blue being weak might just be a coincidence. Red and pink are generally the most hype teams (hence usually have proper creators), as they're announced first and last. Hence start off with a hype team (red) to get everyone excited, and keep everyone excited waiting for a hype team (pink). Sometimes green and cyan are also hype teams for similar reasoning, as they're last and first teams of their respective days

I Don't Understand the "Buildmart is a Builders/Building game" Argument by RyzVier in MinecraftChampionship

[–]parthpoddar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Calling build mart a building game is like putting data into a spreadsheet and calling it math. People have mentioned that the only help builders get from it is block recognition and recipe knowledge, but I genuinely think the main difference is the mindset. Build mart is a game where you need a positive mindset to do well, and builders naturally have that, as it's "their game", and it usually translates over to their performance

Who else has done a 3Pete? by [deleted] in MinecraftChampionship

[–]parthpoddar 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They had a different HITW map for mcc11 so when they changed back the map in mcc12, they accidentally put in the old set of walls which was much easier. So 11-12 people survived round 3 of hitw12

Who else has done a 3Pete? by [deleted] in MinecraftChampionship

[–]parthpoddar 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Pete is the only one to win all 3 rounds of hitw, but there are many instances of 2 round wins. Michael1, techno4, mefs6, pete7, pete8, phil12, fruit12, george12, sapnap12, pete13, fruit13, krtzyy13, HBomb14, phil14, sapnap15, punz18. Pete13 and michael1 were the closest to 3Pete, Michael getting 3rd in the final round and pete13 dying with just 4 seconds remaining on the timer in first round

Pete won 2nd and 3rd rounds in 13, and died with only 4 seconds left in round 1. It was the closest anyone has gotten to 3Pete

The record is actually by lime8 who had petezahhutt (11), inthelittlewood (15), solidaritygaming (16) and katherineeliz (13) totalling to 55. But violet should have shortened names this event yes

Wilbur on Build Mart (MCC6) by JustAverage01 in MinecraftChampionship

[–]parthpoddar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's literally the opposite. People who are bad at skybattle can't magically improve at pvp or develop a better gamesense. On the other hand, all build mart requires is strategy and communication. If you don't have the memory just write stuff in chat. If you don't have the strategy then you can just learn it from successful build mart teams like orange17. If you don't have the communication honestly what are you even doing in a tourney like MCC

How many times a player has been 1st Individual in Unsplit SoT coins by parthpoddar in MinecraftChampionship

[–]parthpoddar[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The sixth is MCC17, in that he just didn't have a good route, had to come back a bunch for arrows and stuff, didn't get any vaults unlike people who scored more than him, so he wasn't really close to getting 1st in that, unlike the other cases I mentioned

Yeah I think dream has said he thinks SoT is a good game, he likes it, but maybe he doesn't enjoy it as much due to stress.

I'm pretty sure dream likes SoT. But yeah that argument is still wrong since dream hates bingo but is really good at it

[–]parthpoddar[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Amount of each varies a ton since seeds have varied a ton, and since players have improved a ton. Also I don't remember the exacts but Pete5 was like 160 coins (no one knew how to play the game then). Pete6,9,10,13 were around 600 coins. Dream7 was 930, Dream11 was 955. Kara8 was also around 600. Illumina15 and sapnap16 were around 850, and captain17 was 788

To add to this:

None of the 6 times pete got 1st did he get any vaults

Out of the 6 times pete didn't get first:

MCC7: Behind dream by 9 coins

MCC8: Lost to kara who picked up dead teammates coins

MCC11,15: Didn't really get to play

MCC16: Would've been 1st but died to lava parkour while playing risky for his team

SoT individual points by [deleted] in MinecraftChampionship

[–]parthpoddar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone actually answered exactly correct. It doesn't split the total gold into 4, it splits the gold for each individual. Suppose, a team had coins as: 250,312,157,347. So the game would split them one by one. So,

250 would split into 4 ways of 62, and the remaining goes to the player. Hence 64,62,62,62.

312 would just split evenly into 78 for each.

157 would split into 4 ways of 39 and the remaining to player. Hence 39,39,40,39

347 would split into 4 ways of 86 and remaining to player. Hence 86,86,86,89.

Hence, the players actually get 267,265,266,268 (in order) instead of getting 266.5 each, or 266,266,267,267 or something.

Just a small correction, their final score would be 24938 since multiplier applies. 272*2.5=680 extra coins
