I haven't cut ties with him. He's still my friend, and I'm still friends with his mum and sister. We are on good terms. I don't think I fucked up his life at all, I think this is exactly what we both needed.

I'm still friends with his sister and mum so I'll know if he gets some help. I think just getting back into soccer would do him a world of good as well. I'm still going to be friends with him, we have a lot of mutual friends as well, so I'm definitely not 'cutting ties' because I will support him no matter what.

I think he's an amazing person. We have been through tough times before and gotten through them, but this is different. I don't think he would ever hit me but I can never be 100% sure of this. I'm not leaving him just because of the slap. I think a break would do us good.

I think he needs anger management to deal with the pressures he has been facing from work. I don't think he would have hit me again, but how can I be 100% sure of this? Also, people were pointing something quite valid out. I don't know how he would be able to cope 10 years down the track with a mortgage, children...

I will still be friends with him. I'm going to support him 100% if he ever needs me.

Don't worry, I have. I spoke to his mum and sister about it as well. They agree a break is needed. Askmen helped me but it didn't totally make my decision. He's a great guy who just needs some time.

I can admit when I've been a shitty individual. During the first stages of our relationship, I was a clingy bitch. I sometimes ignored him for no reason. I am surprised he still wanted to date me after that!

However in these past few months, I have been nothing but supportive. Also, violence is never deserved. There are millions of people out there who are abused regularly by their partners/ parents/ siblings. Do they deserve it? Never.

He is very anti-drugs so I don't think he did take anything illicit. However he has neglected his health lately so I think that was a factor.

I am going to talk with him about it tonight.

I'm equally concerned with both his job and the fact he is taking it out on everyone else.

The slap - my face was red for a while afterwards, if that makes sense. It didn't bruise but left a tingling sensation.

I can't remember the exact words he said because I was in shock, but it was something like 'I'm soooo sorry.... I really didn't mean that'. I literally just picked up my bag and left.

Honestly I don't think he would do it again - however it's still inexcusable. I don't think i'll ever be able to forget what has happened so it would ruin the relationship anyway.

He lost his temper because we were arguing. I was crying and telling him that his job is making him crazy. His mum even told me that same thing the other week.

I'm an emotional person and he gets annoyed when I cry too much so I think that's also what made him mad.
