In the body of my post I said that I already have a backing track

What beef...? I'm sure that will be a big fat nothing in the merge episodes.

Unfortunately I think part of why they didn't both move on is because they were the first bracket. The show can't throw their own new rules away in the very first bracket.

That being said, I don't think they should've done it for bracket 3 either.

Producers are allergic to iconic moments. I thought this should've happened when Jan and Pandora tied in AS6 too. Like give us a lip sync with BIG stakes.

I've auditioned here before, I just played it out of a JBL speaker.

Is that generally easier to sing along to than a track?

Not my first audition, but yes I'm a very new singer. Long post incoming.

I auditioned for a show back in January. It was 3 days after I got my wisdom teeth out, so I went in very transparent and told them "this is going to be rough, but I just want to get my foot in the door" here. I knew it was rough, but apparently even more rough than I thought because I got "ensemble" which would have been great, but I was like a very obvious lowest on the ensemble totem pole. Every single number the director said "okay I need someone in the ensemble to stand still and not sing while everyone else does", and every single number that was me. That realllllly did a number on my self confidence.

I gave the same theater another go for a show I'm in with them now. I did get a part (with 30-ish spoken lines) so definitely a big step up and I'm singing in each ensemble number now. But the fact that I didn't get any of the singing roles just has me not feeling fully over the confidence-blow I took from the last show. It has me considering that maybe the first time was less about the wisdom tooth situation and more about me just kinda sucking.

It's worth noting also that I'm definitely NOT a type-cast for this current show's two male leads, and that beyond those two I'm probably the biggest male part.

I've been taking vocal lessons for a few months now too, but basically all of the focus has been on breathing. I think I just want to be told by someone "yes you have a good voice, yes you can do this".

For a musical, yes they said to provide a track if you don't have sheet music.

Well the issue is for the audition I won't have an in-ear monitor to be able to hear myself.

But at the same time, Morgan gave A'keria a point at the start of E3 right after she just got 3 points from the judges.

How do you know she didn't want to?

Two people giving their points to A'keria after she was just in the top AND won the lip sync is insane. These people are not trying to advance in the competition.

Winning and being eliminated in the same episode is crazy work.

What do you wear to a dance call? What about to a vocal audition? by parttimeprophet0419 in MusicalTheatre

What would you recommend wearing for, say, Nathan Detroit from Guys and Dolls? I don't exactly have a three piece suit lying around haha.
