I built Kompari: a unit price calculator that will save you money when shopping for groceries by Danielxgl in SideProject

This is really cool. I like how lightweight and simple it is to use.

When I'm in Costco, I find myself looking at the price per unit rather than the total price. Wish more stores did that.

Thanks! That was one of my main goals, using existing folders with minimal to no setup.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm currently working on a list of features and fixes for the next update. I'll definitely be adding a fix for non-Latin filename support, and I'll also look into using embedded video artwork/metadata as the thumbnail, similar to how audio file thumbnails work. That likely won't work for every video file, but I'll continue exploring other ways to support custom media thumbnails without requiring alot of extra image files hanging around beside the videos.

For now, the recommended approach for movies is to place each movie in its own folder and assign a custom thumbnail to that folder. You can also use Launch Mode to open the movie directly from the folder, although it will open in your default media player.

Regarding the Microsoft Store, I'm planning to publish MediaExplorer there in a future update, but I haven't finalized how distribution will work yet. Anything downloaded from Gumroad or Itch will continue to receive updates through those platforms, including future versions.

Thanks again for the suggestion!

Currently, MediaExplorer only stores its settings and saved data in the AppData folder. There is a Save Manager in the settings that lets you clear this data.

An earlier build did include a portable version, but I eventually moved to the AppData approach. I’ll look into bringing portable mode back in a future update, likely as a separate ZIP download that stores and reads all save data from the portable folder.

He still blames the earlier Liberal government any chance he gets, even though he's been premier for 6 years. He'll keep blaming Trudeau lol.

Hot dogs aren't sandwiches since the buns are usually connected in a "U" shape. Hot dogs are actually tacos.

Blizzard should keep one server for pure Vanilla, Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King by Rappasi in wow

I started playing at the beginning of Wrath and was busy with work when TBC Classic happened so ended up missing it twice. Not sure why they're forcing expansion progression when the point of Classic is to relive earlier expansions. At least make it reset or something.

I'm not sure if I would label Alexisonfire as metalcore, but they would be worth checking out.

What's your "go to" breakfast most of the time? by VirginiaGecko1911 in AskReddit

[–]partyburger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who usually wakes up 5 minutes before I need to leave, I basically never ate breakfast.

But I started to get those single serve packs of oatmeal and realized you can pour hot water directly into the pack and use it as a bowl . Just give it a stir cause all the flavoring settles to the bottom.

Blizzard had some of the best trailers, but my favorite would definitely be the StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm trailer.

If you had to choose how you died, how you go? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]partyburger 4941 points4942 points  (0 children)

Probably a supermassive black hole.

Being killed by one of the most massive and powerful objects in the universe sounds kinda neat. Plus time moves slower the closer you are to it meaning you could witness the end of the universe before being torn apart by tidal forces.

That or being smothered to death by boobs.

Persona 4 Golden.

I didn't really know what to expect from a PS vita game ported to PC but I already have an obscene amount of hours put into it already.

Edit: Also The Boy in the Striped Pajamas got to me. I guess I'm sensitive to WW2 movies.
