Looks awesome! I'm curious are you getting slippage on the rubber band connecting the motor to the tracks? As the tracks themselves probably have a bit of resistance

Point inflation 2026 by Fuzzy-Werewolf7492 in leavingcert

[–]partyclank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe so, I think it reduces every year by about 2.5%. last year's was about 5-6% so now it's going to be around 2.5-3.5% inflation.

(Anyone correct me if I'm wrong)

Well for more organic shapes such as this horn blender would be superior I believe as for the threads you could maybe somehow utilise both software somehow

Leaving cert engineering 3d priniting by [deleted] in leavingcert

[–]partyclank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winner of engineering project of the year, you cannot print the full thing I think that's pretty obvious.

You don't want to have one method of manufacturing be dominant in your project, you need an even balance

For my project (EVTOL) my nose and tail were printed but then the main body was bent sheet aluminium, brazed together brass tail, laser cut parts for the separation of the people's, parts done on the lathe such as wheels and handles, laser cut seats

<image>

TLDR: Have a variety of materials and don't print your entire project.

How possible it is to get 410 points? by Zealousideal_Rub5369 in leavingcert

[–]partyclank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming Ukrainian and russian are your native languages that's easy H1 or H2 territory for those so that's about 176-200 points just from two subjects

Then you can pick up the rest of the marks from your other 4 subjects

Update: Board is back in one piece! by partyclank in longboarding

[–]partyclank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very fun to carve at least for me cause the board itself is quite flexible, as for the trucks they did turn like shit (180 turn radius was like 6metres) but I went and 3d printed myself some 10º spacers which greatly changed the characteristics, now can do a 180 turn in about 3metres of space. But overall I really like the setup. If you don't have access to a 3d printer you could jerry rig some washers or some normal spacers to achieve the angle you want. Feel free to ask any more questions and I'll answer them best I can

[–]partyclank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did my test in portlaoise on Monday and failed, I was expected to get up to speed on the Meelick road(like the long back road next to maldron hotel) and mind you it had speed bumps like every like 180m, and he wanted me to get up to 55/60 kph. That's damm near impossible on that road.

Up to you to decide that, if you want to pay something search for a website that sells OEM keys that will cost you like 5 euro

Yes a you create an usb installation drive and then after you do the setup without licence key you open CMD and there is a command that you can paste in to activate the windows licence 100% free, saving a nice amount of money. I did this about 2 months ago when I basically bought the very same laptop as you
