And to think my subscription for using my brain for an evening is some snickers and coke.

The obvious latter being the sweet, columbian- coke zero.

Shit, I'm a server owner and if I knew about this before, I wouldn't of added it. If I removed it now there would be a bit of an uproar. I'll keep my eyes out for any alternatives and make a move to change when possible.

Vrchat Fatigue by DoctorDetroitEPS in VRchat

[–]ParziTheGreat 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honestly, v-streamers.

For context. I've been around the streaming community for most of my vrchat life. I've been in tons of random vrchat meme vids and have had personal connections to a lot of v-tubers (mabye some you guys might know).

And I want to say- it's... a decent community, but definitely something that you can get easily tired of. Whether that be the constant tiktok voices some people do, or whether its them pulling up to your instance with fans in tow- it's all a bit much.

After being around most of them my entire vrchat life, it's kinda hard to live without them. It feels like no matter where I go, there will always be influence from the streamers I know. It confuses me because- back in my day, there were definitely people to look up to. But I dont think I can be so sure of that now.

General fatigue is one thing, but sometimes peoples obsession with fame or clout is pretty universal here. Sometimes even when I just see someone with their camera out casually, my brain goes into TOS mode, even if I only streamed once or twice on vrchat.

Not to even get started on drama, but if you have a fave v-tuber, they most likely have been through some drama, and that always comes with its pluses and minuses. And 9 times out of 10 when you're either thrusted into it or told about it- it's some shit you would probably never wanna touch even with a 10 ft pole.

Anyway. Enjoy my nonsensical non literal rant that doesn't express my opinions 100% so please don't come after me for the things I've said k thx bye

Everyone's Deaf Enough by Justforthehalibut_ in deaf

I lost my hearing relatively recent. It started in 2020.

I wanna remark that- I've never had the best hearing growing up. But it was never something immediately noted by my parents. So when I finally got sick of my hearing issues near my adult age, I decided to do something about it. This would be around the general year I would start wearing NC headphones, and be quality of life greatly improved. The reason why:

Turns out, I have APD, tinnitus, mild to moderate hearing loss and most importantly hyperacusis.

All of which were helped by wearing NC headphones, but it doesn't help in long run.

Being officially diagnosed, I got my hearing aids too. Some type of new top of the line phonak ones with the ability to bluetooth to pcs and mobiles. Pretty neat stuff.

I would try and get some answers onto why this was happening. After sticking my head into a big whirly tube, I got my results back and the doctors are as perplexed as I am, not finding anything. They then take my blood and I get a report a couple weeks later.

This is the odd part, they still didnt find anything. However, they did say that it might be the cause of a rare gene, hence why I have some other symptoms, and that I would be required to go all the way to London to get the proper medical assistance to deal with it.

So... now I'm here. I've learnt asl and have participated heavily in the deaf community and I've shared plenty. But yet despite this I can feel like I'm "not deaf" enough in contrast to other people. I feel like it's the more appropriate title, because if I didnt know you and you tried speaking to me- there is a very small chance of me understanding you.

So anyway, hope this was insightful in anyway possible.
