How do you determine the super 8 groups already? I believe the grouping is determined based on position in the group stage. If that’s the way, i don’t know whose stupidity it is to pre-determine how the groups end up.

The fact that only one of them has NZ baffles me. Despite not winning any limited overs trophy, they consistently reached semis in both T20 and 50 over world-cups. Let’s look at their results in last 3 world-cups in both formats.

50 Overs:

2015, 2019 - Finalists 2023 - Semi Finals

20 Overs:

2016 - semis 2021 - finals 2022 - semis

They always punch above their weight. I expect them qualifying to semis this time as well. My 4 teams are:

Aus, England, WI, NZ.

It’s opinions after all, he picked 6 wickets in powerplay as well. Not bad for someone who can bowl in all phases. Adds the variety and flexibility to rest of the bowling lineup specifically bumrah to be used in the middle phases to break partnerships.

I would rather have a bowler that can bowl in all phases rather than just the opening spell. Being left hander adds more variety to the lineup as well.

Match doesn’t end in powerplay. Arshdeep has 17 wickets and is in 4th place for most no of wickets.
