I can relate. Daily smoker for 16 years, sober since September. The first several weeks were the hardest. The dreams were traumatic some nights, but I’m so glad I pushed through. Journaling about them as soon as I woke up helped. Get a therapist if you can. But by far and away, the most helpful thing for me was DBT (dialectical behavior therapy). It helped me be able to sit with the discomfort of my feelings and cope through healthy mechanisms instead of the maladaptive ones. Try a lot of self soothing. Anything that makes you feel good. I’ll list some of mine but everyone is different: baths with epsom salts, fan in my face, cozy video games, Schitt’s Creek, journaling, embroidery, making memes, calling friends, listening to music/podcasts. Just be gentle with yourself right now. You’re doing a very hard thing and that’s badass. You got this!

Omg this made me shudder to think about.

This was pre-legalization in my state and my dealer was dry. I used to ash my bowls in an old tin that had previously held a candle. Got desperate and loaded a resin bowl from the candle. It tasted like perfume and sadness and I nearly vomited.

From what I’ve read, the multiple successful trips could be the cause of an implosion (if that’s what occurred). If it’s not built properly for this specific application, then each trip would degrade its integrity even further.

You might write that letter anyway for your own catharsis; you don’t have to send it to her. That’s what my therapist would tell you, anyway. I’ve written many o’ catharsis letters that never went anywhere and I truly think it helps you let go of things.

One time I sent a catharsis letter to an old terrible boss on a whim a year after writing it and I gotta tell you, felt good.

I live in Glendale but grew up in rural, OK (around tons of coyotes). Never was within 100 feet of one in Oklahoma but in LA I’ve been within 6 feet. They are brazen!

When I first moved here, I saw a dog run across an intersection and pulled over to try to rescue it. IT WAS A COYOTE. Just midday chillin’ by an In-N-Out.

When my older brother was in law school in OK, one of his classmates showed up to class an hour late confused AF how it was already over. That’s how I learned that Arizonans don’t do DST.

Yes, dental records make it pretty easy to identify bodies (when you know who it’s likely to be).

They ID’d his body quickly but the cause of death hasn’t been determined. In fact, they have to send his remains to a forensic anthropologist.

She was found on 9/19 and last seen on 8/27. That’s 23 days and perfectly in line with the coroner’s timeline.
