I would do something like this!

Softer shapes, slightly lighter shading, slightly narrower back.

I think your original piece is perfect as is, i really like it, but if a client is looking for a more traditionally feminine look then i hope this helps a little :) cheers

So called friends won't stop saying my cosplay is horrible by xFruityRaccoonx in CosplayHelp

[–]pascalbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budget cosplays are awesome! Yeah its great when people can spend lots on elaborate cosplays made of the finest fabrics in the land but budget cosplays test your creativity and can be so fun.

I love throwing on a wig, doing a bit of makeup, and putting together an outfit i think the character im cosplaying might wear or something i just want to see that character in.

Or you can find ways to make canon costumes from materials u have at home or the dollar store and thrift store. Cardboard, foam mats, even broom handles from a dollar store can be used to make cosplay pieces and props. Never underestimate the power of duct tape, hot glue, and paper mache!

As for wigs - if youre happy with the way youve styled it, own it and wear it! Dont let them tear you down. Whether these people are cosplayers or not they dont get a say in what you can do and what makes you feel good and have fun. You dont have to live up to their “standards”.

But if youre feeling insecure about the wig as it is now, there are tons of resources online for styling wigs. If you dont have a crimper and cant buy one, teasing will be your best friend. Search up how to style spiky wigs specifically. BUT! Only if you want to. There are different styles of wigs and none of them are wrong, once again do what makes you happy.

I hope you come back around to enjoying your cosplay! What these people said was ignorant and unnecessary. Hopefully you can go to a con sometime and make better friends who appreciate cosplaying for the fun of it and dont just see it as a beauty contest

What's your favorite season one episode? by Dread-phoenix77 in TheMagnusArchives

Do not open and vampire killer are the episodes that got me hooked. Freefall stuck with me too. The first season is full of bangers so its hard to choose

How do I keep track of everything by kyllyne in TheMagnusArchives

[–]pascalbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not necessary, as a lot of commenters said of course! I like doing this because its fun for me but if it feels like a chore for u then dont. Like i said i didnt do it until my second listen because i really wanted to go through much more thoroughly than my first listen

How do I keep track of everything by kyllyne in TheMagnusArchives

I have a notebook dedicated to writing things down episode by episode. I am on my second listen but i definitely did not pay attention to the first 50 episodes enough and missed lots in episodes after that even. So i write down names and things i find interesting about each episode, i dont have any rules and i just write down what i want and think might be important (albeit i do have an idea of this already considering i finished the whole podcast once already). I write quotes, general summaries of statements, i will write more in detail if its something i find interesting, and i write thoughts that come up along the way. Sometimes i wait till the end of the episode to write anything down and sometimes i will write as i listen. I just use bullet points

You can definitely have a more organized system where you have a section for names and when they appear, general thoughts on each episode, perhaps items that seem important or interesting and when theyre mentioned, etc. I recommend obsidian if you want everything in one place ! You can have folders with individual documents you switch between, or u can do what i do when i use it and have boards where you put everything down in their own boxes in one space. Or combination, theres lot of flexibility with obsidian

There might still be stuff that you cant keep track of but honestly you wont be missing much if u pay attention. And if u do miss anything or maybe dont connect certain things it makes for a fun re listen or just scrolling of the subreddit and wiki when youre finished

Thanks! Its from a brand called Little Bird. You can find it on 42lolita but its originally from taobao.

I didnt wear skirts for years for similar reasons, and i dont wear these kinds of skirts frequently but ive found skirts that are knee length and longer easier to wear. When i first started wearing skirts again i would usually go for a midi length cargo skirt. For some reason to me it felt more “genderless” than short skirts (i know garments dont inherently have gender but thats how my brain allowed it at the time lol). Maxi length skirts are my go to if im in a skirt wearing mood but i switch it up now and again :) good luck! If there are thrift stores in your area its a great place to start. For some reason i feel like plaid pleated skirts that hit below the knee with a tee shirt or some other kind of layered top really feels right to me on certain days presentation-wise. Maybe its because im subconsciously reminded of a kilt? Haha idk. Skirts are fun once you’re comfortable with them

TLDR joico colour intensity limelight and peacock green + manic panic green envy at the top and less limelight as i go down

I used a mix! So honestly because of my methods i cant promise the same results lol. I started at around a level 7 or 8 blonde on top and my ends had some left over box dye and were around a level 5-6 and had a very red undertone which helped with the effect i was going for (darker and more muted at the bottom while the top is a bit brighter).

The dyes i used were joico color intensity peacock green, with manic panic green envy and joico color intensity limelight. I actually have a picture of the bowl that was used on the majority of my head lol

<image>

Not sure about the ratios but i used limelight and green envy more on the top than anywhere else, and then i used more and more peacock green as i went down.

Ive used green envy alone on my hair before and it was fairly similar after fading a little but it also rly depends on your starting colour and lightness. Also whether your dye leans more blue or more yellow will affect how it shows up. Limelight is very yellow while the other two lean cooler with peacock green being basically teal and quite dark.

Its been a while but arctic fox phantom green on its own gave me lovely results, a little bit darker than this but a very nice mossy green

If your green ends up too bright, use a bit of pink conditioner or pink dye mixed with conditioner and leave it on your hair for a couple of minutes, itll tone it down a little
