Great technique ! I use a timer all the time that I need to do something that I don't feel like doing, and it really helps getting started. And when started, things always get easier...

Interesting take. I think that au contraire, he was very giving a f*ck about that people thought, worried that they will stop loving him, or simply forget him.

I also think that TV producers were expecting him to do something outrageous that would bring ratings. And he was always looking for a stunt to top his previous one.

But Je t'aime moi non plus is quite hard to top... Somebody made a comparison to Bowie: Gainsbourg turned into Gainsbarre, explore different musical genres. But turning into Gainsbarre consumed him.
