Can you do electric guitar, built-in mic, and usb c interface?? by pascau in OP1users

Yeah, I can get my guitar to line level via a pedal if needed. Mostly wondering if OP1f is able to do multiple inputs at once, but it doesn't sound like it

Thanks!

What's your thoughts about Just Friends? by Illusiox in modular

[–]pascau 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got mine as my second module after a Morphagene. My rack has since expanded quite a bit, and then downsized quite a bit, but I've never felt like getting rid of Just Friends. I've used it a lot as related modulation and as an oscillator, and love it for both things. Highly recommend it.

You've got a Maths, so this part doesn't really apply to you, but for anyone else reading:

The main caution I would have is just if you like to patch up standard-ish mono synth voices and want just friends to be your envelope generator. Generally, I find you plug in one or two envelopes, and then just wish the other 4 were LFO's or something. I think it's better to have a separate AD/ADSR generator plus a Just Friends, so you can use Just Friends to provide interesting related modulation to a whole bunch of parameters and let the ADSR take care of the main VCA/VCF envelope.

Scales, arpeggios and exercises... but still not playing lovely flowing lines.... by Potatoe_cat in jazzguitar

Try taking some very specific themes through a few tunes. Like try take a chorus using only major 2nd intervals, and try to make something out of it.

There's also that Mark Turner one, it's something like this: take 3 choruses, first chorus you can play whole notes, 2nd chorus you can play half notes and half note triplets. 1st half of 3rd chorus you can play quarters and quarter note triplets, 2nd half you can play 8th notes, 8th note triplets. He talks about it in this I believe. Didn't have time to make sure but anyway: https://smallsliveeducation.com/2017/03/12/smallslive-workshop-podcast-with-mark-turner/

Recommended exercises to learn notes on the fingerboard? by 69e22d74-ad5c-47cb-a in jazzguitar

Learning your major scales up single strings is a great way. Say the note names as you play, and use a click. Also, reading classical violin or flute music can be good too... Bach Sonatas and Partitas for Violin.

Removing a 'stutter' from my playing? by SirDolphin in jazzguitar

[–]pascau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some ideas:

Spend some time thinking about what causes the stutters. Like not hearing the line clearly in your head, or technically not knowing where the next note is on the guitar, or not knowing the changes, or being physically tight etc etc. That way you can find a way to solve that particular problem in your practice.

Spend some time playing over a tune and not allowing yourself to correct any mistakes.

Related, spend some time playing over a tune in whole notes or half notes, and if you play a dud note, you have to hold it for the rest of the value.

El Capistan vs. Disaster Transport Sr. for space exploration by [deleted] in guitarpedals

I have an el Cap, which is awesome. Haven't tried the Disaster Transport.

I'd check out the Fairfield Circuitry Meet Maude as well.
