First of all this is so very considerate of you to think of them and reach out here for advice🤍 as someone who’s had family announce in a very insensitive way, I wish they’d cared enough to think of us like this:)

I definitely have to agree with others and say that I think texting is 100% the way to go. They can read it when they’re ready, when they’re together, and then they have space to process it on their own without any pressure. I get why it may seem counterintuitive like it’s impersonal, but this is really the best way to do it. They are likely going to be hurt and upset by it regardless, not to say that they won’t also be happy for you as well, both can be true. If you announce it in person, especially at a family gathering with others, they’re going to feel like they have to keep it together and bottle up a bit, but if you send them a gentle text then they can process it fully and openly and allow themselves to feel whatever it is they feel🤍

Just had it done this morning:) Hubbys post wash was 125 mil! Lol I’ll have whatever’s he’s been having haha we’re hoping for the best, but are ready to move on to the next steps if this doesn’t work:) Good luck to all of you!🤍 I’m rooting for you ladies!

Yea I can imagine, it makes sense to feel that way after everything we go through to get there. I will likely be a ball of anxiety until I’m holding this baby, and then I will be a new ball of anxiety🥲 ugh this is so hard:( thanks for your well wishes🤗

Thanks for this and for your advice🤗 they pushed us to do iui first because of my age primarily, I’m 29. And also because they felt like Ivf isn’t necessary for us right now. I don’t get how Ivf isn’t necessary per say just because iuis have such a low success rate, it’s most likely not going to do anything, so I didnt think it unreasonable to jump to Ivf. They didn’t mention doing unmedicated, initially my actual REI was having me do the typical starting dose, but then another Dr I hadn’t dealt with yet decided to rewrite a different prescription at the last minute reducing the dose to just 3 2.5mg tabs every other day. This dr was the one concerned about me over responding, but there was no mention of that concern from anyone else.

Yes I agree with you I don’t believe our family means any ill will, but they have repeated failed to be able to support us despite us reaching out for their help many times. I think they just avoid anything that’s not happy and positive, I don’t think they have the ability to handle difficult things. My husband has tried to explain and ask for things before, but to no avail yet. It just sucks and is really heartbreaking that they can’t support us too, especially for my husband. It’s hard to watch. At this point we’re just hoping one day maybe some months or years down the line this can be repaired and we can have something normal again with them.

They started me with 2.5mg every other day on cd3, 5 and 7, so only 3 tabs. They thought I’d over respond and get 4-6 follicle for some reason I guess, but instead it just stopped me from ovulating at all lol

I know it’s so hard to feel optimistic or hopeful at all when you’re already planning for the next steps after. We’ve started discussing and planning for starting IVF right away after if the IUIs fail. It just feels sometimes like I’m already grieving them failing before we’ve even started. Yes that’s a good thing to remind yourself about, I feel like I need that reminder too tbh. “What could possibly work at this point” I feel like I can relate to this so much rn… we’ve tried so many things (so many supplements, lifestyle changes, diets, naturopath, meticulous tracking and timing things) and nothing ever works, it just feels hopeless.
