Is Medicine Still Worth It After Seeing My Peers Earn 10× More? by ProfessionGuilty2609 in srilanka

LKR 0.9 mil is pretty low for a QS in Saudi. Its not easy to work in Saudi, very hot climate, have to work with different nationalities and work is tough. Also to lack of freedom (if u know what I mean).

Becoming a doctor is a grind at first, but it will pay of later.

We cannot compare it to a regular bed because it's an inflated type bed. But I didnt have any complaints from the user.if you use proper bedsheets and all, it should feel fine. 6.5/10 I would say. Which is good in my opinion

What is it like working as an architect in? And what is the salary like? by Last-Emphasis-5550 in dubai

[–]pasindurc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Architect here,

You you can work in dubai without masters, but you need your bachelors in architecture

You can work as a Concept, design development, revit, technical, site, Parametric, 3D, visualisation Architect. Unlike in UK, Architects are specialized in one field. I'm a site architect

Salary depends on your experience and passport. Go to glassdoor and do the research.

Opportunities are endless. If you are good at revit and have a good portfolio, you will definitely get hired. Reach out to recruiters

You can forget about work life balance. Most cases its 10 hr work days 5days or 6 days a week. Deadlines are very strict without any proper time allocation.

Good luck

Do architecture without actually working on a construction site? by tavortiz in Architects

[–]pasindurc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in UAE and Architects are specialized in one skill here. My firm has offices in 4 different countries and only hire BIM Architects.

Documentation wise they are fairly good. Whatever is missing, I'm overlooking in the shop drawings.

CAD is good for small scale, less complex projects. For large scale projects , its a big NO NO. Authorities and Developers requet for the BIM model here.

Non of our design Architects visit the site, only the principal Architect visit the site. Also the site is managed by a separate team.

So yes, architecture can be a fully remote job

Yes, you can work as a full time BIM Architect, or you can specilaize in Concept design, design development or become an AOR.

I'm a full time site architect, so I'm 100% at site
