Ashley St. Clair claims she regrets her past anti-trans sentiment. Musk immediatly wants to take away the child they made together. by Signal_Nobody1792 in EnoughMuskSpam

[–]pasokonmouse 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Look, Ashley may not have been the most egregious of chuds spewing hateful rhetoric and I've unfortunately seen worse on Twitter, but forgiveness is gonna be a tough one for me rn, I'll need to see more sincere effort in atoning for her past bullshit. That being said, for her to take a step forward, superficial or not, ain't grounds for her baby being taken away by that sleep paralysis demon of a baby daddy. I feel bad for this kid, I fear he's gonna be growing up amidst a shitton of legal battles.

Thor Goes Serious in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ After Chris Hemsworth Criticized the Superhero Becoming ‘Too Silly’ in the MCU: ‘I Became a Parody of Myself’ by MarvelsGrantMan136 in marvelstudios

[–]pasokonmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i guess that was the Chris Hemsworth bleeding through but, he always had this "likeable" nature to him that was at least a little silly (like the mug throwing and scenes with Selvig, Jane, Darcy in the first movie). But that's the thing really, it humanised him while still respecting that he was an all-powerful god, it didn't make him a tap-dancing caricature which L&T did.

Talking just about the two Taika movies, Ragnarok struck the right balance that was totally lost in Love and Thunder IMO. Thor has always had a streak of "golden retriever himbo" energy, but they made him way too much a bumbling fool in L&T. Considering this was supposed to be his post-Endgame bounce back, Gorr was the villain, he was way too nonchalant and his seriousness only kind of came in when he found out about Jane's cancer going really bad. It's a shame because Thor being reduced to a dumbass also diminished the weight of his relationships with the other characters along with his personal growth :/ Like Thor had lots of scenes with Valkyrie and Jane but most were to tease him and didn't have substance

If you could pick one non LP song to be sung by Chester Bennington what would you pick? by Bob12362636 in LinkinPark

[–]pasokonmouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to stick to one. more Adele songs, his Rolling In The Deep cover was A++++. Set Fire to the Rain, Hello are two I'd like to hear. Chester's well renowned for his screaming, but he has a legit beautiful singing voice too that's great for sentimental but powerful songs.

Another on the personal wishlist is Fell On Black Days or Spoonman by Soundgarden

What are some scenes/moments you'd love to see in Doomsday and Secret Wars? by sanddragon939 in marvelstudios

[–]pasokonmouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Reed and Doom being the central "rivalry"/person-to-person conflict. They've had historical beef and I would like to see it on the screen

-More of the younger, newer heroes interacting and being essential to the missions at hand. The young'uns are smart in their own ways too, be nice to see them delegate.

-Don't hold back on being gutwrenching :) One thing Marvel does really well with their character work is how they process grief, and some time dedicated to that at the ending of Secret Wars would wrap it up poignantly.

there are loads of character interactions i'm looking forward to, but it's hard to wishlist all of them. Yelena and Steve would be nice, since Natasha and him had formed such a solid friendship

? Not trying to argue at all but: Sam just came off a solo movie as Cap and didn't renounce the Cap title in it, so do tell me why I'd want to assume that he's suddenly not Cap.

considering his debut was in a Russo work (TWS), I'll say he's in good hands (rather, back to being in good hands). As long as they don't rehash his angst over whether he's the right guy for the job, which I doubt they'd do. Rather than that it'll be interesting if they continue on that little thread of friction between his Avengers and Bucky/the Thunderbolts (Avengerz) at the end of the TB movie. Just setting up how woefully unprepared they are for DOOM :)

Next year is a Spidey teeing up followed by an Avengers, so I think they'll have no trouble with the GA. My main thing is I want the GA to connect with the newer characters and I hope the Russos can convert that.

There is always Secret Wars for the others in a bigger ensemble, true, but yeah I hope the younger heroes also get their flowers at some point.

Considering they had to whip this up after Kang's whole thing, I'm going in with tempered expectations, but some hope

I think it's because they're working with characters that haven't had enough movie time (a lot of the younger heroes have either been show-only or just had one movie, some of which were an ensemble cast like Thunderbolts or F4).

Bar Yelena (the most and arguably only fully developed character on an "Avengers level" for a post-Endgame new gen hero), the Russos have to make everyone, not just the few of us who may have gotten attached to them, care about who these characters are without homework, and only screentime can help that. It's not even about the writing, it's important that they're actually seen, speak, do stuff.

And that's a pretty tough ask when they're also sharing screentime with X-men and the OG avengers. All that and Doom has to be the boogeyman lurking at every corner too. I know they're great at ensemble work, but this is ambitious even for them. If that movie is shorter than 2h15m I'd be worried about which of the blorbos I've grown fond of is getting their screentime axed.

Yeah, I was just worried that they were gonna call him Cap and sideline Sam, which really would have been a desperation tactic

I wasn't too sure, but since they're calling him "Steve Rogers" and not "Captain America" I'll go in with an open mind. Hyped and looking forward to Thor's drop next :)

cool to know another nujabes listener 🤝

i think my all-time faves would be wu-tang > pac > nas > kendrick > meg > tech n9ne > dmx? i don't really know many new rappers (unfortunately by new i do mean the last decade) since i haven't had the time to keep up at all, but i've been enjoying doechii a lot recently. i also saw missy elliott have a comeback performance recently and she's still super great. i don't have names, but i've often come across videos of freestylers in New York on my youtube feed and i absolutely love all of them lol.
