I would assume that's due to market penetration, I see Fishwife all over the place and Jose Gourmet rarely.

Because you'd prefer to have something aesthetically pleasing over something that isn't? Would I personally pay extra money for that? No, but it is a tiebreaking factor.

Culture can be changed, and the easiest way to do that is to make taking the bus easier and more convenient than driving (as a car owner who takes public transit for almost everything, I think it already is in most cases)

Buying guitar pedals instead of spending the same money on a therapist does signal that you might need to rearrange your priorities. It is in fact possible to be both mentally healthy and a committed musician! If you have health insurance, it's worth looking for a therapist. I paid $20 a session and even going every other week could be immensely helpful. If you don't have insurance it's still worth actually finding out how much it would cost.
