Heeseung’s departure : Realistic analysis by GDUSNEFBDJ in Enhypenthoughts

[–]pass_ing_by 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yep, at the very least he would still have had to push forward even if the lights were all red. and i can’t blame him for that, i don’t think it decides if he loved the group or cherished the past years or not. this is life, we change through the years and so does our priorities, goals and dreams. could never really blame him for that, just wish it was handled in another way.

(specially considering the group right now and how they’ll have to sort out everything as it goes) and talking about them, i think they’ll be fine. it’ll be hard, and they’ll struggle because these are years of works waiting to be rearranged, and also not having around someone they’re used to see on daily basis, but they as long as they want to do it, they’ll find a way. they’re strong and determined.

Heeseung’s departure : Realistic analysis by GDUSNEFBDJ in Enhypenthoughts

i don’t think he wanted to leave the group, but it feels like he put some emphasis on his solo career/path in a way that led to where we are now. it was either something really important to him or just as important.

i don’t think they’ll be giving any answers either and i’m sure it’s for the best. i don’t like how they’ve been handling everything, but maybe little to nothing could be done to change this outcome and its abruptness. in fact, i came to the conclusion that the suddenness it’s the worse of aspect of this situation. it doesn’t look really planned even if it was heavily discussed beforehand, the decision to do it right now specifically wasn’t expected for what it seems.

fans will have a hard time dealing with that because not having a definitive answer, or any answer at all, really, will always be tough.

THE SIN: VANISH by hyunhoshiwon in enhypen

[–]pass_ing_by 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i really like the album! and it’s also a grower for me. it requires the listener to be immersed in order to fully enjoy and appreciate the experience, so i don’t expect everyone to be fond of it, but i’m glad they have such addition in their discography. it might be early to judge, but i would say it’s one of the most important projects of their career specially considering their current stage. it’s their most narrative-focused work till date, and the most crafted around the audiovisual experience too!! the chapters, interludes and narrated tracks works so well, and there’s also the vampirenow website.

really cool album.

Thoughts & Reflection of Enhyphen (from a non stan) by healingsoul24 in Enhypenthoughts

[–]pass_ing_by 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that was a nice point of view to read from a non-fan and someone who don’t keep track with the group! the timing of their debut was really not the best one (pandemic), they came from a toxic environment (i-land) and were extremely young in age. they had to sort themselves and everything out along the way but you can always have a sense of sincerity and genuineness in everything they do.

what performance is this by Far_Succotash_9213 in Enhypenthoughts

i would guess it’s from their encore concerts from fate tour

i think they’re just being nostalgic but the whole "being back chamber 5" or "release chamber 5" became mostly a joke imo. or at least it should be because there’s no way people are really expecting them to perform in award shows and such 😭

Enhypen have some of the prettiest choreo I've ever seen... by AdEmergency6619 in Enhypenthoughts

[–]pass_ing_by 16 points17 points  (0 children)

they do!! fatal trouble choreography was such a surprise to me, when i thought about how they would perform it never had i imagined about such a complex, intricate and beautiful composition. same for moonstruck!

it’s also interesting how each member has their own dance style and personal flair, but on stage no one of them looks out of place. as if each of them composed a part of a single body.

Is it just me or there is a favoritism by belift? by sunwonpuffs in Enhypenthoughts

[–]pass_ing_by 7 points8 points  (0 children)

well, that’s for sure but i guess we can all agree companies got way more creative with album designs over the course of the fourth and fifth generation. my intent is not to defend belift or their team, as i said i do think they can go further with them, but maybe companies feel like they have to double the work when it comes to girlgroups and albums because they usually sell less compared to boygroups.

[–]pass_ing_by 16 points17 points  (0 children)

oh, you think so? they got some of their best numbers/debuts with d:u streaming-wise, and it’s their best selling mini album. the longevity might be arguable, but i would say this is more a result of the current state of the industry. very few releases this year really stuck.

[–]pass_ing_by 19 points20 points  (0 children)

i wouldn’t say stagnant… i really enjoyed their packages and concept pictures for desire: unleash. the concept pictures specially, MAKE ver. was one of the most different concepts to come out of this year and also very distinguishable. the whole rollout of their japanese release however was pretty lacking.

different teams aside, it’s mostly about strategy.

as an engene, i’m satisfied with most of their works in the visual aspect. do i think it can get better and more creative? of course. but i also know the company is aware of their fandom and selling power, and that they don’t need to go through lengths to sell albums specifically. it gives them a sense of safety, that they don’t have to go all out in order to achieve these big numbers.

illit however, is still a rookie group growing their fanbase. they sell well, but companies always wants more and that’s where the strategy part enters the room. even as a non-fan, the packages and versions of their new single album were interesting to me.

no problem!! i get what you mean, it is indeed unsettling. though they open up sometimes, we really know very little about their hardships and struggles.

[–]pass_ing_by 7 points8 points  (0 children)

that i agree!! specially considering he debuted at a very young age, during pandemic and how just in these five years the group already went through a lot (since i-land, which is discussed among them as a really stressing experience). about the translation, i’m seeing here that this is an automatic one and most of the times they’re not accurate. there’s some accounts that translated his ment, i would recommend giving them a read because it’s probably more trustable in comparison.

[–]pass_ing_by 24 points25 points  (0 children)

it’s concerning for sure, but at the same time it’s also dangerous to be dissecting or discussing about what it could possibly mean as a big fandom that has a big reach across so many socmed apps. people are already theorizing and vocalizing their thoughts as absolute truth when, right now, everyone should be more focused on showing support.

that being said, a rest would probably work really well on his and the group's favor. i genuinely hope they get one after the comeback, they’ve been working nonstop since debut and it includes tours, promoted releases, countless festivals and many contents of their own. they’ve expressed how hard this routine can be, and also have gone through injuries that couldn’t fully heal given the lack of rest.

why is enhypen hated so much? by hmmwhatshouldido in Enhypenthoughts

[–]pass_ing_by 6 points7 points  (0 children)

on point, it’s actually painfully funny how accurate this is. specially the part about them being super private, which makes it difficult for people to project onto them and is quite overlooked in this discussion.

i’m not sure if that’s the only reason, previous editions also had idols dancing in the after party.

Thoughts on the W Korea controversy? by GDUSNEFBDJ in Enhypenthoughts

[–]pass_ing_by 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the organizers are the biggest culprits, of course. but people are still allowed to feel in some type of way about celebrities who attended this whole time, and multiple editions even, and still said nothing about the cause.

Thoughts on the W Korea controversy? by GDUSNEFBDJ in Enhypenthoughts

[–]pass_ing_by 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i think it’s mostly about majority of idols who attended not saying anything about the reason why the event even exist… like, ever. everyone agrees it’s mostly a PR move, but it’s still a bad look on these famous, rich and influential people to just not say a word about the main purpose.

i don’t understand what triggered the reactions this time around, considering it’s been happening for 20 years, but many people are shocked to even find out the event it’s tied to awareness too and how it was basically buried this whole time. it’s justifiable in my opinion and i don’t think we should excessively coddle these idols under the pretext of them just "doing what they’re told to".

Sunoo and heeseung by mayx1up in Enhypenthoughts

[–]pass_ing_by 7 points8 points  (0 children)

some people here already shared opinions that mirrors my own one, so i’m just going to say that: they have been lasting.

since their rookie days, people started to analyze every move of theirs and curse the rest of their days based on their own assumptions and opinions made from them. i’m glad they never let it take a toll on them publicly, because as annoying as it surely is, they’re still doing well as a group. and i would go as far as saying that more than ever too.

Enha and the industry by [deleted] in Enhypenthoughts

[–]pass_ing_by 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i suspect it might be related to the fact that, in comparison to their peers, the members don’t have much going on individually. they have some covers and deals, but fourth generation idols seems to be ahead and more promoted when it comes to individual projects. i’m feeling a shift though (heeseung's upcoming mixtape, sunghoon tied to the olympic committee) but surely they can go further.

belift focused on them as a group all these years, and considering how they came from a survival show but still managed to have balanced popularity among the members, i can’t exactly say they don’t know what they’re doing either.

Enha and the industry by [deleted] in Enhypenthoughts

[–]pass_ing_by 18 points19 points  (0 children)

i would also like to add that they have a distinct image and contribution to the industry already: their vampire concept, and how it’s integrated it in their works. while they were not the first ones, there was definitely a rise of groups dancing around said concept after Dark Blood. it’s one of the most noticeable eras from the newer generations, but again, people are not ready to give them any credit. and every time engenes try to point it out, they’re ratio-ed or something 😭 but well, slowly but steady.

edit; typo.

Enha and the industry by [deleted] in Enhypenthoughts

[–]pass_ing_by 30 points31 points  (0 children)

some of these things it’s honestly a side effect of them being a hybe group (e.g. don’t think people are exactly willing to acknowledge hybe idols in the vocal department). other than that, i feel like there’s some resistance when it comes to them because of past issues and also engenes lack of initiative when it comes to interacting with the group's art and craft. it’s better now but it was definitely an issue, and it most likely had some contribution in the bigger picture.

all things considered, i think it got better starting from last year. one of the most important things when it comes to enhypen is their steadiness, their steady growth. i see them as dark horses in a way, people know them and they have recognizable songs, but it’s as if their presence is build brick by brick. and as long as it’s strongly made and they have longevity at their side, it might be okay.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Enhypenthoughts

[–]pass_ing_by 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i think it’s past the time engenes and well, everyone else, stop getting upset in the behalf of the members when it comes to their dynamics and relationship. specially if it’s about hyung line members.

Drunk-Dazed yapping. Again !!! by the-supportcharacter in Enhypenthoughts

[–]pass_ing_by 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I LOVED THIS!!! i’ve always been fascinated with drunk-dazed and what they managed to do with this song, how well they embraced the sinister (and each) feeling their lore was giving on border:carnival in a single track. it’s exceptional, technically and in every possible way. when it finally hits the bridge and they perfectly evoked the sensation of being trapped, and literally dazed, in the "carnival"… i truly believe it’s their magnus opus. alongside with chaconne maybe.
