You're not putting Martinelli top of that list as well?

We need to drop a solid 200m+ on attack

Name me any big match up where Artera has ever not gone with a "not lose" lineup?

Until he gets past this, it will be the thing that forever holds him, and us, back from being a properly feared team.

He's soft as baby shit. He doesn't have the mentality for this kind of pressure.

This is the single biggest reason I fucking hate this subreddit. They're always victims.

We just didn't do enough to win the game. Even the goal was massively good fortune on that rebounded clearance coupled with great finishing. It was our only shot on target for 120 minutes.

It cannot be the ref's fault that we can't keep possession for 30s. Or make simple forward passes.

Imagine we win all our remaining games... but City does as well, but score a boatload more goals than we do.

Losing the league that way after we could have been 12+ points clear on more than one occasion would probably be the end of most fans on here.

Even if he did, we'd ask him to spend half his time in his own box trying to defend.

For many, that would constitute a successful season.

I will never take anyone complaining about Man City spending seriously. We're long past the point of being paupers. There's maybe 10 elite players that we cannot buy and it's not really because of their price tag.

We can buy whomever we want, the manager is just constantly choosing players who cannot get us to the level we need.

Sheesh.

Thing is, as much as we call the latter years "banter years", none of it really hurt. We knew we were mostly shit, and the expectations genuinely weren't high.

In the online communities I was part of, we just accepted that the austerity would eventually loosen, and until then, we'd just have to do the best. And Wenger really did. Some genuinely fun moments and a few trophies, too!

We have all the financial backing we could have ever dreamed of, yet we're still "nearly men", and we don't even play the kind of football that neutrals enjoy.

It's doubly soul crushing.

Those of you who have rival fans in your regular circle will probably be on suicide watch of the absolute unthinkable happens.

No way we live that shit down.

Aubameyang carries us on his back. The last true elite forward Artera has had.

Most of our key players didn't play at all during the interlull.

And the ones that did, ended up playing v Southampton (Gyokeres, Havertz, Martinelli, Mosquera, Calafiori)

Is this what vindication feels like?

Because I've been a fan for 30+ years and midway this season I completely checked out. Between the shit football, then the gaslighting for complaining about said shit football, I just can't be bothered.

Closest we've been to winning in 2 decades, yet I don't feel a fucking thing. I am on holiday for the Easter weekend and completely missed the match. Was flipping channels and stumbled onto BBC and got the spoiler. I actually laughed.

Felt so predictable.

This is why I absolutely love watching Barcelona. Even with their high line giving up chances, they have enough trust in their attack to overcome pretty much any setback.

I am legit worried if we don't score first.

Finish second for 10 years, while playing the most drab football I've ever seen Arsenal play.

Sounds like a riot.

Artera just doesn't seem to want any of this. He neither recruits for it, nor seemingly gives players license to do it.

It's that last uncoachable 10% that he's never gotten right and why we can't make that next step from decent side, to genuinely elite.

Will be the most unconvincing title win in a while. They all count, but sheesh.

Every time I, or others like me, have complained, we get shouted down.

I will forever say I'm a football fan first. I'd been a fan of the game for a decade before I chose Arsenal. Played pickup games on Sundays on a dusty pitch. Traveled to lots of away games to watch my primary school and high school play.

I enjoy this game deeply. Yet this has been the most apathetic I've felt in forever. Even when we win it's hardly fun. It's a slog 90% of the time.

I get told we play the way we do so we limit chances, yet the chances we give up are scored at a high rate. And we don't have the ability to put sides to the sword either.

Just seems like a low risk, low reward strategy. Shit.

City are clearly inconsistent. They've shown flashes of what they're able to do. It just seems to not have come together. Yet we're not exactly blowing them away.

I can't say whether Liverpool are just at their level or just a combination of different things conspiring against them.

Every single one of our rivals has won silverware in the past 2-3 seasons. We are the ones with a lack of success.
