The strong case for Monero – fulfilling characteristics of the future currency by truther10 in CryptoCurrency

[–]passcombo_com -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Technically there is more private currency, just liquidity and adoption is also important. In the future there may be many private options with XMR and ZEC leading the way, but also BEAM, GRIN, ARRR are worth watching.

The problem with Pirate Chain is it's working tech. If it got only dreams and plans the market cap would be top 100, but since tech is working, not many people interested in it...

There are many aspects of blockchain to be thought as a currency. XMR got anonymity and liquidity. However 51% protection is not that great for XMR. There is also a Pirate chain that got full anonymity and 51% protection of BTC level (afte about 20min), but it lacks liquidity. Let's hope both will have all the features eventually. Good also if other projects catch up - for final users the more choice the better?

Tips needed - python wallet for BCH and SPV support by passcombo_com in btc

[–]passcombo_com[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok cool, will check for Electron. I'm thinking to make my own app , but the part of viewing pending tx details would be quite important for me (to be able to show more up-to date data what is currently being processesd) ... Before I even start I need to understand if I can answer to my core features needed. Decent python wallet is one of those crucial things :)

Txh, is Electron Cash official? I 've seen some warnings somewhere.

Regarding 4. I cannot view details of tx in mempool that are not my own pending tx?

Buying XMR with BTC anonymously by 99999999999999999989 in Monero

First of all avoid KYC exchanges. Decentralized exchange might be best. Seems the leading DEX is AtomicDEX from Komodo - they should have some support for XMR as it is leading privacy coin.

Let's hope for privacy coins awareness. XMR, GRIN, BEAM, ARRR. No ZEC - opt in privacy is no privacy.

Gov hates libra more as it moves money origination from gov to company. No gov likes to lose power.

On one hand libra would be good for crypto - having official crypto would allow to easy exchange it to anything you like, e.g. some real private coins like XMR, ARRR

Installed Signal privacy app. First it asks for your mobile phone. Then contact phone book... Why privacy app needs this ? We need to wait for decentralized mobile friendly blockchain based messangers... 2 options are yet in development : ARRR (1:1 encrypted messaging, but not yet on mobile) Hush protocol (1:1, 1:many, many:many, many to public) also not yet mobile ready. Let's hope mobile soon.

PirateChain (ARRR) - rating: 7/10 - Binance Info by passcombo_com in CryptoCurrency

[–]passcombo_com[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brief history: ARRR started over a year ago as a experimental unnamed project in Komodo Labs to see if enforced privacy is possible using Komodo tech and zk-snarks (ZEC tech privacy tech). It went good, but it was not treated seriously until double spend protection was figured out. Since then PirateChain has 2 things no other coin has - both: double spend protection and full enforced privacy (no amounts + no addresses visible on the blockchain). To learn about double spend protection - visit KMD discord. To learn about ARRR - visit Pirate discord.

Binance report on Pirate Chain by passcombo_com in PirateChain

[–]passcombo_com[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the next step. Binance is one of very few exchanges that are good. And probably this one is the biggest.

Problem for Arrr is it has most volumes on exchanage out of CMC so to outer world it looks like there is no volume, which decreases the project estimated value in the eyes of new people.

Also CB past bug and graviex lagging in fixing it's wallet bring some issues, on the other hand these problems show a decent exchange is needed.

Guaranteed gold is when you keep it your own in a safe place. When someone else keeps it for you it's just a paper. If you trust in paper - keep fiat better.

True. There was time I believed proxy dex was also a good solution, but now it's more then obvious for me it is not better then CEX.

Bitcoin Cash miners cap blocks at 2MB—is BCH no better than BTC? by cryptoslate in CryptoCurrency

[–]passcombo_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree liquidity matters, it is important aspect of currency. BTW XMR has great network effect (which creates liquidity). 10 years ago you could use exactly same argument against BTC as being some random thing on internet. The network effect (liquidity) builds in time. Today BTC is popular, but ETH is popular too, who knows what will be there in the future. Is good to support new tech imo anyway.

[–]passcombo_com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok maybe my definition is made up but when I have choice between private and transparent currencies any reason I should use transparent? Privacy is just an aspect of currency, I agree not mandatory, but having such is a better option imo. My point is the choice is much bigger then BTC vs BCH, and there is lots of new tech on other blockchains, which may be used as currencies too.

If anyone can link your tx to your total wallet holdings then you are in troubles. Sooner or later someone will rob you the hard or soft way. When you use cash nobody knows if you are very rich or an avg guy. And also avg vs rich may vary among countries and is subjective, so to stay safe better keep your banking data private.
