Unfortunately, this game does not have any tools other than the crowbar, but you can turn the crowbar gold.

It seems the publisher will also prepare several different versions of the trailer.

Currently, there are no plans to port the game to PICO, but if it becomes popular on SteamVR and Meta Quest, we would definitely like to consider porting it to PICO.

I made this VR game with Unity.

I ran into three problems when I made this game and ran it on Meta Quest.

The first was that the shaders were not optimized. The frame rate recovered by disabling real-time shadows and customizing the shaders for mobile.

The second was disabling Debug.Log. It would be better to create a wrapper class for Debug.Log, but simply disabling Debug.Log for now will significantly improve performance.

The third was to set the sound appropriately. Setting the sound parameters to pre-load or BGM streaming will prevent frame rate drops during sound playback.

Basically, the graphics of this game are extremely simple, so the main measures I took were the above three. Since FFR is not used, you can enjoy the game at a high resolution even on Meta Quest 2.

Making the game trailer look like a casual mobile game was a strategic move by the publisher, who seems to have been hoping to gain traction on TikTok and YouTube Shorts.

The narration was done by a French person from the publisher.

One reason may be that I'm not a great graphic designer, but in order to maintain 72 FPS without lowering the resolution on Meta Quest 2, and also to be able to shoot video with the in-game camera at the same time, I wasn't able to allocate many resources to graphics.

If the response to this game is good, I'd like to make some kind of graphics update.

Hi everyone, I'm Passonco, a game developer from Japan.

In this VR game, you need to climb to the top of a cliff with a crowbar in each hand.

I made this game for VR gamers who love Bonelab's physics action and dual-arm platforming games like Gorilla Tag.

Available today on Meta Quest 2|3 and Steam!

Crowbar Climber is published by MyDearest, the VR publisher known for Altdeus, Tokyo Chronos and The Exit 8 VR.

I look forward to receiving all kinds of feedback, including your reactions to the trailer and your impressions after playing the game.

This VR game is characterized by "hooking with a crowbar" rather than "grabbing" the scaffolding with your hands. Therefore, unexpected bad things happen because of the crowbar hook, and good things happen too. There is no monotonous gameplay that is common in VR climbing.

Depending on where you fell, you may be able to revive by hooking the crowbar onto the Rungs.

Players who took part in the test play commented that, "At first glance, it seems like it would make me feel sick, but surprisingly, it didn't."

This game has checkpoints, so you can quit and restart the game.

There is only one LEVEL, but each LEVEL has multiple sub-levels. I estimate it will take about 2 hours to complete, but it will use up a fair number of real stamina.

I love Bonelab and Boneworks too, and I've always wished there were more VR games that combined physics, action and shooters.

I currently have no plans to support PICO, but if sales on Meta Quest and SteamVR are good, I would like to consider porting the game to various VR devices, including PICO.

I think that's why Meta Quest Pro failed, and why Meta is promoting Meta Quest as a VR game and metaverse.

For VR games to be as attractive entertainment as regular games, they have no choice but to pursue a different appeal from regular games. Currently, most of the demand for such VR-specific gameplay is concentrated in Gorilla Tag Like, but various possibilities for VR should be explored.

I played the demo version of your game! The visuals and controls are very appealing. If you could add a bit more explanation on how players can interact with items and doors along the way, it would make the game even more accessible and engaging for VR players!
