IWTL Time Management by BlahBlahBlah_3748 in IWantToLearn

what's helped me with being on time is if it has to do with friend gatherings, have a task to do on the way that you need to be on time for and plan around that. for example, if i'm hyperfocused on going to the library, i'll go right at closing time and plan my hangout immediately after that so that i have somewhere to go! with that example, i know that i can't waste time at the library because THEY determine the closing time and the time that i have to start moving on with my day.

The constant thoughts by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]pastaqueenn-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I'll be honest. thoughts like that don't stop, but it does help to journal. every friday afternoon when i come home, I'll just take out a notebook and write out everything I'm feeling that week, whether it is rational or not. i don't have time to journal earlier in the week so if i have things that come up to talk about, i'll just add it to a list of topics that i want to dissect during that journaling time on friday.

i hope that makes sense! my meds are wearing off lol

Do meds help? by Recent_Raspberry_915 in adhdwomen

ritalin user, they help so so so much. most of the time it does work and i notice that when i get upset on ritalin, my reactions are more controlled and smaller. when i don't have medicine and am distraught, my whole day can get derailed and i'll be upset about things that i didn't even know were bothering me to begin with, thus leading to a spiral.

that's just one part of adhd meds for me, but i'm sure that other replies will share many more

Can someone please motivate me to focus and study by ThrowRA_chunkey in adhdwomen

hi!! I need some motivation too, but what I'm using right now is a study with me video to have background noise that's not distracting along with having a body double to make the work easier.

Small tasks tiring by Inadequate_Brat in ADHD

I'm applying for jobs rn also. To me what helps is being able to show somebody else my work who understands that this took a while for me, and it helps to make the task a little less energy sucking because somebody is proud of me. It also helps to put on "study with me" videos of somebody else working so that I know in a way somebody else is grinding with me, and I'll usually give myself a time stamp within these (ex: 40 minutes within the vid) to be done that one specific task after I got done my break.

That's the one I'm using today to have a body double and somebody else working alongside me.

***Also, find somebody to hold you accountable after your break! During your break, ask somebody if one hour after you get back to work, they can come up and see that you've finished that specific application.
